Women Pastors

Guys, I just don't believe in it. Its really a scary thing. All thru the New Testament, they tell us about false teachers and their dangers. How do the methodist get past Timothy? It seems very clear to me.

I mean I don't like it that I can't be a deacon or elder over my divorce. I am not a man of one wife. I didn't have my family affairs in good order. But thats what the Great book tells me, and I will abide by that.

I asked a woman who stands at the pulpit this question, and her answer was, "we have to move with the times". That made up my mind pretty clear. One thing I have learned throughout my studying, was don't follow the worlds ways.

Big Country I must say I admire your willingness to set aside your personal goals to adhere to God's word.
God has/had a reason for saying what was said, that is good enough for me.
I also say that I will take instruction about God anywhere I can find it, woman preacher or man preacher.

I might get hammered for this but I will stand by it, men and women do have different focus' and ideas.

Women seem more ready to accept "less than should be accepted" than men do. Women seem to be more willing to accept less than should be expected of thier kids.

Is this why God said what he said about women in church, I don't know.

As for the woman you spoke to, she is an example of what I am addressing.

Mr. P, I asked her with somewhat an open mind. I was waiting for her to say, "Mark, I just got this calling I know that is from God", but she said the wrong answer. I would have accepted that answer. And just say, you know God is a soveign God and who am I to question his works.

I would love to be a leader of a church. A humble man, a man so full of faith, that nothing of the world could penetrate. A person that gets more personal joy helping others than himself. I see my pastor talk every week and still so amazed how gifted he is. So amazed at the gift that God gave him. God gave him the power to communicate, and calm the church. Gave him the gift to help me feel so moved every week. I see the same with the assistent pastor, who heads over the music. God gave him such a precious gift of playing music to worship the Lord. He even has me singing, and man, do I hate hearing my voice.

Maybe one day, I will have a simular gift without standing on a pulpit. Or maybe I will be just a humble man of God who sits in his pew living his life a way that pleases God. Well see.

Women Preachers

Although a woman today mayhave similartalents and abilities as any manwho is a preacher or elder, that does not invalidate the fact that God has said that the role of a woman is to be a submissive one, especially in the marriage relationship and in the public worship of the church.



1 Timothy 2:11-14
Let a woman learn in silence with all submission.And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.For Adam was formed first, then Eve.And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

Ephesians 5:22,23
Wives, submit to your own husbands , as to the Lord.For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.

Colossians 3:18
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 11:3

Rebel, right now, I am considering marrying a women I have been seeing for almost 2 years. I met with the pastor Saturday night and he said we are not ready for premarrital counceling right now. But gave us both a book. Mine is "The complete Husband, a practical guide to biblical Husbanding", and hers is, "The biblical wife". All through hers, talks about these issues of being submissive. And all thru mine talks about being a husband where the wife does not have to be a leader and how to take responcibility for these things. How to educate myself to properly be a spiritial leader of the house.

I asked her, if she is up for this. She shook her head yes. So we will see.

Women Pastors are wrong! look at 1 Timothy 3:1-8

1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop,[a] he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,[b] but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35

34women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

If women were not permitted to teach over men then, why would it have changed now? IT AIN'T!!

BC, am happy for you bro.. Start at the dinner table with your thanksgiving's.
Show her that you are strong in your beliefs and that you will be the head of
the family as God wants the man to be. Show kindness and be gentle to her
always, for you have picked her for a wife. Besides God andyour children she
is the third most important person in your life. The flesh becomes ONE.

There are women who have gotten much more done than I ever will. Some have pastored large, successful churches, ect. I would not want to be found to fight against God but will let you know where I stand. I am not excited about setting under a women pastor or going to hear a women preach. However, if my local church has a women preacher come and minister, I will attend for the sake of unity. If a woman speaks the truth, I will say amen as well as I will for a man. Its the truth that we affirm, not the speaker. If we are not careful, we can let our spirit get wrong over the issue and the the truth of the matter becomes irrelivant until we get ourselves back in good standing with God.
