Well, I have always been a reckless sort when it comes to fast things. I love it. Love it since pushing down that accelerator on the car for the first time. I was riding my moto into work today and weaving in and out of traffic kicking about 80 in some spots. I always pray before I ride. I realize that a bike is about a dangerous contraption you can have. But been riding for over 20 years something or another.
Question is, as a Christian, is getting a thrill ride doing anything wrong. I mean since I got saved, I feel God's will with my life will be done. I guess I am asking opinions on that age ole question, if God has a plan for me and knows my past and future, should I fear death? Especially since I know to my bones that I love Jesus Christ, and know he died for my sins?
Brother,
Once Jesus is Lord ,He is Lord of all. Your driving, your hunting your everything. Salvation is not a one time shot. " We are being saved." It is a daily taking up a cross. In our obedience we find fullness of joy. If any man be in Christ he is a new creature. Behold all things become new. Let him be Lord over your driving brother. There's no since dieing before your time."
Chuck
Big Country,
I do not like talking about my past but it seems we have similiar ones. My advice brother for you is to read your word daily. There are many false churches out there. " Let the word of God dwell in you richly." Do not compare yourself to otheres. Our example is Christ. If the role models in your church do not act Christ like...find anothe rchurch. I care about ya brother.
Your brother,
Chuck
One thing you might consider--are you breaking the speed limit? As a Christian, we should obey the laws of the land, and set the example for others. I don't think a Christian should fear death, but we should obey the laws as long as they don't conflict with the Bible.

I agree with the posts above and want to add one thing. We are the temple of God. The old temple where God dwelt away from His people was done away with when the seperating veil was ripped by God (from top to bottom) at the death of His Son on the cross. Now God (the Holy Spirit) dwells in us. We are His Temple. So by recklessly weaving in and out of traffic and speeding down the roadway you are putting His temple in jeapardy. Are you not? Who are we to tear His temple down? By any means? I know this is going to ruffle some feathers but we don't have the right to destroy His temple (our bodies) by any means. I think I will leave it at that for now...

Amen Chuck,
After my conversion I went to the detention homes and jails. I was just as bad but never got caught by the law. I was caught by God.And as a teacher I do my best to teach them young everything I can possibly teach them to keep them off the road to destruction. Right now it's boot camp for my 3rd graders. I'm tough now but they wil love me later. Big Country my 20 yr old son has a 1200 Suzuki. We pray for him daily. he drives like an idiot. He doesn't do drugs and such but loves the thrill. Please pray for him. his name is Matt. I will pray for you daily Big Country.
God bless,
Chuck
Thanks all for the answers. The question came to me this morning driving to work. I guess I feel God is protecting me. I feel he is right there riding with me. You guys are right that it is breaking the law. I would say at least reckess driving and speeding. Maybe passing on the right side. I mean its not near as bad as alot on the Baltimore Beltway. But I guess that doesn't make it right.
Do you guys think a Christian should not be pushing the edge? I respect all opinions. Or should a behave in a more safe manner. I mean should a Christian be partaking in dangerous activities like sky diving, basejumping, legal dragracing? My grandmother tells me she thinks a person can shorten there time on earth. But I kinds disagree. I figure God has a plan for me. And as long as I live under his will, that plan will become clear.
Story:...my best friend was a faithful member of the church. He had a lifelong vision to plant (start) a church in the Pacific Northwest. He and his family went through missionary training at Abilene Christian University along with other families. Their plan was to go to Vancouver BC to plant this body of God's believers. They got as far as Seattle when one of the team disbanded. I don't know all of the particulars but my friend ended up here in Spokane. He still had his dream of planting a church. This dream starting taking shape about 2 years ago in what we call the West Plains (Airway Heights). He was an elder at the church I attend, worked with the teens, and was very active in every aspect of the Lord's church. He and some other members started meeting out in the West Plains and had been meeting together for Sunday evening services for about a year. This past Easter they had their first "official" Sunday morning service and opened their doors as the West Plains Church of Christ. My friend and his wife sold there house and bought another house in Airway Heights so they could be close to their church work. April 1st, the Friday after their first service, I was helping Bob pack the moving truck when he suffered a major heart attack and died in my arms.
Was Bob a faithful servant of God? You better believe it. Bob had major plans on spreading God's word in the West Plains. Was God with Bob? You betcha! No doubt in my mind He was. But for some reason that I will never ever understand...Bob died and went home to be with His Heavenly Father. So as far as your statement..."I figure God has a plan for me. And as long as I live under his will, that plan will become clear."...I have to totally disagree. Bob was doing and living God's will and His plan never was clear to Bob. Bob and I had several discussions on how do we know what God has planned for us...he always answered..we don't know. Bob lived his life for God the best he could and did what he thought God wanted him to do. But that didn't stop Bob from dying, in my opinion, to soon. Remember the world is the devils place, his domain and death is his game. Jesus conquered death and we too will conquer it one day. So I would be careful living on the edge...you never know when a breeze might come along and blow you over.
