Is a saving faith the only way to heaven (for clint et al)
Clint: Is a saving faith in Jesus Christ the only way to heaven?
Porter: Absolutely yes. Faith (in the Lord Jesus Christ) is the first principle of the Gospel as taught by Jesus Christ and his Apostles and Prophets.
Is faith the only way to live with God the Father. No, it is not. See Acts 2:37-38.
"Then said Peter unto the, Repent and be baptized everyone[/b] of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the Holy Ghost."
Obviously Peter is teaching the second principle of the Higher law as taught by Christ himself: REPENTANCE!
The third Principle ties in with the first ordinance to enter heaven, That of Baptism for the Remission of Sins.
The fourth principle ties into the 2nd ordinance, that of the laying on of hand for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Is this biblical, orthodox teaching as taught in the Bible. You bet it is! If in doubt read Acts 8:18, 1st Timothy 4:14 and Hebrews 6:2.
Just an attempt to answer the questions you say that I'm "skirting." I am not.
God Bless,
Porter.

RE: Is a saving faith the only way to heaven (for clint et al)
Porter Rockwell " Is faith the only way to live with God the Father." Can you offer a exact meaning to this?
Can you explain how it answers the question Clint asked " Is a saving faith in Jesus Christ the only way to heaven? " Which is the question asked of you, that you have quoted to start the subject matter of this thread.
Your answer on this thread seems to be side-stepping the originalquestion abit and refocusing debate towards your " No, it is not.See Acts 2:37-38. "
I maybe just missing something though.
Just a bit confused.
Thanks
Mr-Pirk
