2 Timothy 2:2 - "And the things that you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit these to faithful men, who will teach others also."

Go teach, and enable others to teach also! I like that!

Pslam 27:7
[7] Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

I have a ton Caleb. But this is my first one. I was in a real BAD situation one day . I went to my Church of Christ land lords and begged them to read the Bible with me. I opened the Bible to this verse.

Psalm40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

40:3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
He rescued me out of Hell.

Because of much adversity I have faced in life, my lifeline verse is Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."

My philosophy verse is the second half of Matthew 12:34 "...for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."

Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Liz,
I love that Romans 8:28 one too. I have used that one a lot of times when you just don't know why.

Hello I Shoot Stuff

I like your nickname....I wish I had thought it up for myself

What a refreshing topic you have brought up.

" What's your favorite line(verse) of praise from the bible? "

I don't know if this is cheating or not,but for me it isn't just one verse but a paragraph.

There is a set of verses telling how Jesus healed a beggerman who had been blind from birth. After Jesus gave the man his eyesight the powerfull folks (Pharasis... I know the spelling is wrong...but on this forum we don't judge folks by such things) in town began to grill the ,once blind, fellow about who had healed him.
The powerfull folks hated Jesus because he showed the whole world just how mean spirited the powerfull folks were.
He did this by helping folks and healing folks on Sunday. The Sunday was considered Holy..meaning it wasone day a week set asidefor praising God and if you did any sort of work you had your mind on something besides God.
You were sinning. The powerfull folks had decided thatfor Jesus toheal folks on Sunday was SINNING!!!...yep they thought in CAPITAL LETTERS.
Jesus used Sundays to heal folks to show the powerfull folks that the very best way to praise God was to do nice things for our fellow man. To show God that we loved our fellow man as much as we love ourselves.
This is all God ever wanted out of man... to know God is God...or the Boss...by doing the things God told them to do....and play nice with each other... love our fellow man......
Kind of like we do with our kids.

Well when the powerfull folks got to questioning the once blind begger they raked him over the coals pretty good.
The more questions the smart powerfull folks asked the once blind man...the more the man understood that the smart powerfull folks really didn't know much at all.
The once blind man SAW that the "smart" folks were less smart than he was. When this thought hit him he said.....(I will post it in my own words... the exact wording in the bible is slightly different...(it is late and I have Mrs-Pirkskids here tonightor I would find the verse for you)...

Picture an old weathered farmer standing before Powerfull men dressed in suits and ties withall kinds of Law degrees framed on the polished marble wall behind the Tall bench they sit behind and give rulings from.

These Well dressed men are looking down on the bare-foot fellow. They notice he is wearing a ragged pair of overalls and they sneer.

They ask the fellow... " The fellow that gave you your sight"
" Is he a good guy...or a SINNER like we think he is" ?

The fellow answers " I think he is a VERY good fellow...He gave me my sight."

They replied to the fellow " How can you say this is a Good fellow you fool... don't you know he healed you on a Sunday he is nothing but a SINNER!!"

The fellow repied " I don't know everything about this fellow who gave me my sight, but he has GOOD ,in him, or else he wouldn't have helped me".

They replied " Well if youare sosmart EXPLAIN it all to us" and they said it with a sneer.

The bare foot ,once blind, overall wearing fellowjust looked at them and said......

"Well if that don't beat all...You folks are supposed to be so Smart and know EVERYTHING and you are ASKING a fellow who has been blind his whole life to EXPLAIN it to you????...well if that don't beat all"

What I have enjoyed about this set of verses, as they are written in the Bible, is that they show God in his true light.

God intends man to Love God...Love your fellow man... never pass up a chance to show it ...no matter what the "smart" folks tell you.

Welcome to the forum I Shoot Stuff , glad to have you here.

Thanks
Mr-Pirk
