Default Beleive in the Aprocrypha ?

How many beleive in it?

What is the Apocrypha?
The term "apocrypha" was coined by the fifth-century biblical scholar St. Jerome and refers to the biblical books included as part of the Septuagint (the Greek version of the Old Testament), but not included in the Hebrew Bible.
Several works ranging from the fourth century B.C.E. to New Testament times are considered apocryphal--including Judith, the Wisdom of Solomon, Tobit, Sirach (or Ecclesiasticus), Baruch, First and Second Maccabees, the two Books of Esdras, various additions to the Book of Esther (10:4-10), the Book of Daniel (3:24-90;13;14), and the Prayer of Manasseh.
The apocrypha have been variously included and omitted from bibles over the course of the centuries. Protestant churches generally exclude the apocrypha (though the King James version of 1611 included them). The Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches include all of the apocrypha (except for the books of Esdras and the Prayer of Manasseh), but refer to them as "deuterocanonical" books. In this context, the term "apocrypha" generally refers to writings entirely outside of the biblical canon and not considered inspired by the Catholics,(such as the Gospel of Thomas). These same books are referred to by Protestants as the "pseudoepigrapha."

Reb,
I have a very old antique Bible which contains these books. I was taught that they were only added to support some Catholic doctrine. It will take a life time to exhaust the 66 .I don't read the others. Just a 66 Bible book man I guess. The Bible even contains the anti drinking pledge in it.

[blockquote]Bro's. All I am looking for is opinions. I don't read them either.
I was just wondering what other Christians think about them.
Thanks on your replies. [/blockquote]

Brother Reb, My opinion on stuff like that would'nt add much to the conversation. I try to be selective in what little bit I read. I guess at my age I have experimented or considered with other teachings as much as I'm going to. I used to really love to read, but now I very seldom ever read anything except the bible or some book related to it. I'm not dishing the Catholics but I don't find their doctrine suitable for my personal study.

I don't believe in them and here is the reasons why.
1-They were not received as inspired scripture by the churches after the first 4 centuries after Christ.
2-They were not written in the Hebrew, which was used by the prophets of the O.T. and by the inspired historians.
3-They do not claim to be the inspired Word of God..
4-They contain teachings contrary to the bible.
5-In quality and style they don't match up to the Bible.
6-The writings are not quoted by Jesus or the Apostles
7-Some of the books written as history are fiction.
8-The book of Tobit contains many false things.
9-The book of Judith is contrary to what God had given to Jeremiah.

some of the books do have some historical value but they should be placed on the same level as other history books, in no way equal to the bible, the inspired Word of God..

there too many verses for me to type so if you need an explanation on any of these 9 points i'll be glad to answer with scripture..

To bad the exorcist working on Linda Blair didn't have access to these books. He could have just burned some fish guts and drove that demon right on out of there, huh.

Thanks
