Default Broken heart

Well sadly Jimmy the young man we brought into our home to allow his parents to get their act together has left us. His parents still have substance abuse problems, they are/were still homeless, up until Thursday they were bouncing from living with friends, to motels, and ultimately to the woods, and then back to friends. Well the friends brought Jimmys parents over last Thurday to pick up Jimmy for the weekend, then Friday afternoon they showed back up unannounced saying they were taking Jimmy and moving in with Jimmy's mother's step daughter in Oregon and they needed his clothes!

Our hearts were absolutely broken, we packed all his clothes in a suitcase of ours and gave the suit case and his clothes to them. His mom said that her step daughter has 40 acres in Oregon, a house & a barn that they just built a new apartment in, she also has 4 kids of her own and obviously is doing well financially because she has a full time nanny for her kids. Jimmy was quite upset at saying good bye to us as we were at saying good bye to him.

Please all of you pray for Jimmy, pray that even if his parents do not clean up their acts that his moms step daughter will take Jimmy in and give him a good home and a chance at life. This has been one of the hardest things my wife and I have ever gone through, it still hurts and probably will for a long time, with him in Oregon we will probably never know how he is doing or how he will turn out.

Thanks leaf and motor, as you said motor now all my wife and I can do is pray for him and pray that we did leave a lasting impression on him, I feel we did, he told us many times he loved us, that and he left us with a better understanding of Christ then he did when he arrived and better morals.

Brother Hog besides loving Jimmy the wife and I have seen the horrible way that a persons addictions can destroy and or damage other lifes. I spoke with both his mother and father and encouraged them both to get thier acts together, I spoke to them as a father would speak to his children, we exchanged hugs quite often, there were many prayers said for them. Satan via alcohol and drugs has a very powerful grip on Jimmy's parents that I nor my wife can understand.

We just do not understand how something can have such control over you that you are willing to sacrifice you own children to the control of drugs and alcohol.I pray that for Jimmy's sake one day they will wake up and see what they are doing to Jimmy and themselves.

Bro. Taz, What a wonderful thing you and your wife were doing for Jimmy! I know that Jimmy will never forget what you tried to do for him and he will always be grateful. I know that because to this day I will never forget the people that reached out their hand to help me when I was in similar situations. Bro Taz, the Lord will never forget either. He will never forget that you opened your heart and home to "one of the least of these". I will be praying with you that the seed you planted in Jimmy's heart will continue to grow inspite of his circumstances (God is greater than our circumstances), and that the Lord will send somebody to minister to him and his family in Oregon.

Sister Lizzie, it is so hard, with the exception of prayer it is all in the hands of God, my wife and I since Friday will suddenly find each other with a distant look in the others eyes, and with out asking we both know where the others mind is at, with Jimmy, wondering, worrying, and praying that all is well for him and that things will turn around for them all.
