One of the most important thoughts a man has is imo, why do you believe what you believe.
If your belief is that there is a God that will burn somefolks in hell forever can there be any higher point to warn someone about?
I ask for opinions as to why you believe the Christian faith is the One true faith?
If you were to witteness to one such as Alpha1 what would you tell him was the logical reasons for believing in Jesus?
We have read enough of his posts to know that "The bible tells me so" isn't workable.
The "God did it" verses "Prove God" arguement is a wash. He won't accept such simple arguements.
Jonah Hex didn't.
Jonah Hex is like Alpha1 in that he never took the time to consider the opposing view-point, they were/are both to busy trying to make the otherside look foolish to stop and consider what has been posted to them.
I try not to post spiritual matters to un-spiritual people.
I try to post in a manner that makes them stop and consider thier most basic assumptions.
Most of the time even this doesn't work.
What arguements would you offer Alpha1 as show Jesus is/was the answer?...in other words.... Why do you believe what you believe?
Thanks
Mr-Pirk

Aristotle said, " In the end if you live as if there is no God and in the end there is no God you lose nothing and gain nothing, in the end if you live as if there isa God and in the end there is no God you Gain nothing and lose nothing, In the end if you live as if there is no God and in the end there is a God you gain nothing and lose everything, In the end if you live as if there is God and in the end there is a God you gain everything and lose nothing.
I believe what I believe because I have faith. I don't see how someone could go hunting and not know there is a God!
Moose " I believe what I believe because I have faith."
"I don't see how someone could go hunting and not know there is a God! "
I agree, now the question left is, How do we translate that into something that might save Alpha from a horriable fate?
How do we make this useful to Alpha?
We are put here not only to save ourselves but also folks such as Jonah hex and Alpha and others.
Thanks
Mr-Pirk

Have you ever done this? Has there ever been a time in your life, that you can look back on, in which you willfully turned away from your sins, and trusted in Christ to save you"¦in which you literally prayed to receive Christ? As the Bible says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13).
Would you like to do this right now?
Let me invite you to pray a simple prayer, right now, for salvation.
"DEAR JESUS, I BELIEVE THAT YOU DIED ON THE CROSS FOR MY SINS AND THAT YOU AROSE FROM THE GRAVE. I NOW ASK YOU TO FORGIVE ME OF MY SINS AND SAVE MY SOUL. I WILL FOLLOW YOU AS THE LORD OF MY LIFE." Amen.

Rebel Hog how would your post help someone such as Alpha?
You know Alpha as well as I do from reading his/hers posts.
Rebel Hog your post only helps if you are preaching to the chior<sp>.
How do we rise above that and help folks such as Jonah Hex and Alpha?
Using your logic..... what logical arguements would you offer? Something workable.
What is moredifficult #1to save the already saveable, or to save that which is #2 truely lost?
If you can do the second isn't the first very basic?
I am looking for something beyond the basics.
Thanks
Mr-Pirk

mr-pirk, I really can't answer your question at this point.
I am not an Ordained Theologist or a Psychiatrist. IMHO
I believe the man is beyond Theology help. All I can do at
this time, is keep him in prayers and ask the Lordto open his
mind and heart to accept HIM.

Mr. Pirk,
Jesus said by loving others , they will know thatwe are His disciples. Through love they will posibly hear. In the mission field many use the following technique before preaching.
Meet their physical need with medical supplies and food. Then when their needs are met you teach / and invite them to Christ. We also have many needs in America. People are hurting and crying out. Their crying out is different though. Most are acting out in loud rebellion. Yet they are actualy crying out. God in His Word says that His Word will not return unto HIm void. It will accomplish it's task. Some plant, some water but God brings the harvest. Our job is to pray, love and plant seeds. God will cause the increase.
Chuck
PS Remember the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. Jesus told the rich man " Even if one should come back from the dead, if they won't believe the teachings of Moses they won't believe him either." Not all will believe. We are only sent to spread the Word . We can't save anyone. God does that.

This reminds me- As a child of 9 or so i( had too)kissed a old mans hand& goldring for a piece of cake& coffee- they wouldnt give me the coffee(my age?) c& nothing on Jesus that i remember.
Somekinda social gathering( at the music hall/ball room?)for the bishop?orcardnal something like that( robes large hat)-Just walked in off the street like a naborhood holagianno cake without a kiss[&o]
And at the mission in california where i dinned a few nites(soup line), but you had to hear the surmen first- before being feed, so you wouldnt run off before hearing the message?
I have faith man is very active in his relgions, relgionsorgins& how it is seen& used.
Yes needs in America- it really is a good thing we have these relgions/churchs to help pplout.- they truely have done many good things like food etc-without asking anything much inreturnussally....but to take a look.
Much better they when they use to remove your head/because you didnt believe/except the love.

Mr Pirk, I'm at work so all I can give you is what I believe right now. I believe that we are all born with a empty spot within us. It's a spot that was meant to worship God, and to be filled with His Spirit. It's like a yearning that we have that is without peace. Often people will try to fill this void in their lives with booze and drugs, sex, money, . gods of our choice, etc. At least for me, I felt this call most of my life and tried to fill this empty spot with many things. Nothing fit long enough to secure my peace. I believe that we all feel this lack within ourselves, and I believe that it is a call from the Lord. The thing is tho, that we can't share this truth with one that does'nt want it. We can give them love, share the gospel, meet their needs. If they do not want to meet the One that can save their souls, and make crooked things straight, there is not much else we can do for them. I feel that Bro Rebs post said a lot. Each of us as individuals must at some time decide within ourselveswhich army we are going to side with. Until we reach a point to where we are humble and repentant on our knees before the Lord, recieving Christ as our Savior, becoming a child of the King, as we were created to do, the void , that lacking, that unexplained . . ."something" , that we try to fill with worldly things, knowledge, will always be there. I don't see anywhere in the gosples that Jesus or the Apostles twisted anyones arm. They spread the seed of truth and some fell on good ground, and some did'nt. We each have a choice to make, . . .in the long run , it's up to us.

Mr-pirk, to be honest I have seen people converted through example, this is a personal example, someone who is a neighbor, co-worker or friend. People are more likely to want to know why you are the way you are if you are leading a Christian life right in front of them. They see how you deal with the world with out the worldly fears that the non beleiver has, they sense something is different and they can not put thier finger on it, eventually they ask you how you handle this world with far more ease then them.
The answer is an easy one, I just tell them "Because I am not facing the world alone, I face the world with Christ at my side." This leads to questions from the person, which will eventually lead to their finding Christ.
Sadly this forum, nor any other written words will normally bring someone with a hard heart to Christ, what it takes it personal example.
