10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. Jesus is THE DOOR of the sheep ,not wolves or goats but sheep. Acts 4: 12 b. for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
John 14:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. Amen"but the sheep did not here them. Praise God! We sheep know better than to follow strangers. I believe God"s Spirit bears witness with our spirits. This is what the men who walked along side of Jesus said concerning Jesus before their eyes were opened..Luke
24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? Romans8:16"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God."
10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. Salvation is for those who go through Christ .That is great news. I didn"t understand the phrase " shall go in and out." It is not supporting church hopperes.LOL It is saying that we receive faith often times through Christ. I mean how many times in a week do you call upon Him for help. I do a lot. I know I am weak without Him. I go through the door often.
10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
This verse here, is why we only did four verses. We need to talk about this one.
The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. The thief obviously is the devil. Can we agree that he is actively in the world today by this verse"
Ephesians 2:
2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the
spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
But hey now"..who are we that the devil should want to bother with ?1 Peter
5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
He seeks any of us to devour. But I must add we are to resist him through faith. 1 Peter 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the
faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Remember if it wasn"t for our Lord praying for Peter ,that Peter probably wouldn"t have made it.
Luke22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy
faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
So many Christians are so defeated by the devil today. They live in fear instead of joy. The devil makes sin so appealing ,and there is joy in sin for a season. But the heavy burden that it brings; some seem to never recover. The Bible says that we do have the power to overcome his tricks by standing firm on God"s Word. I think so many try and live the best of both worlds and it can"t be done.
Proverbs 6:
:27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
1 Corinthians
5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
In other words"if you give Satan an inch..he will be a ruler in your life. Do not play with him.You will lose.
Hebrews
12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside
every weight, and the
sin which doth so
easily beset us, and let us run with
patience the race that is set before us,
12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your MINDS.
THE GOOD NEWS John 10: 10b
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Folks, God desires to bless us. That is a fact.Yes He blesses the good, the bad and the ugly but HE really wants to bless His children. He truly does open up the windows of Heaven and pours more than enough on his children. He gives us sound wisdom to deal with situations here, He is our healer, our comforter, our friend who sticketh closer than a brother, the provider of all our needs , our advocate who has never lost a court case, His blood continues to wash us from ALL unrighteousness thus causing us to have fellowship one with another, He sits on the throne of grace and we can approach Him 24/7 . He is with us in the deer stand ,our boat, our jobs and desires to bless others through us. He speaks peace be still to all of our storms. In His name we rebuke the devil .. Yes I would say that we have life and abundantly.I wouldn't trade it for the world.
