7:31And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done? And many of the people believed on him. This is really getting the Pharisees mad. Mark"s gospel in 12:37 tells us that the common people received Him gladly.
7:32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him. Take Him where? To the Sanhedrin. The Sanhedrin was a group of 70 men plus the High Priest. It was abolished in 70 A.D. after the distruction of Jerusalem by Nero in 70A.D.
"In the time of Christ the Sanhedrin exercised not only civil jurisdiction ,according to Jewish law,but also, criminal to some degree. It could del with all those judicial matters. It was the final court appeal for all questions connected with the Mosaic Law."
7:33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. Little would they know that "a little" while would be around 5 months.
7:34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.
The sad part of this verse is "ye cannot come." For unless they believe on the Son they or anyone else cannot see the Father nor have Everlasting Life.
7:35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? Pretty self explanatory. They had no idea He was talking about His death and going back to the Father.
7:36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come? Jesus does not seem to answer them. After His death and resurrection these answers will be more clearly understood.
7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. "If any man", the invitation is to all. Ifr a man truly thirst for righteousness and the things of God. The invitation still stands.
7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
" 38. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said. Notice that "believing" corresponds to "coming" in the preceding verse, showing that faith is the means that brings us to Christ. The reference is not to any single passage, but to the spirit of the Scripture, notably such passages as Isa. 55:1; 58:11; Psa. 36:8, 9. Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. Christ is the living water; he who believes upon Christ has Christ formed within him, and hence must become a fountain to dispense the living water whatever he goes.
39. This spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive. This declaration of John makes the second chapter of Acts the best commentary on the preceding verse. Luther says: "So St. Peter, by one sermon on the day of Pentecost, as by a rushing of water, delivered three thousand men from the devil's kingdom, washing them in an hour from sin, death and Satan." Because Jesus was not yet glorified. Let it be noted, (1) That the Holy Spirit was not given until after the death and ascension of Jesus. (2) The disciples of Christ did not become "fountains of living water" until the Holy Spirit was sent. This marks Pentecost as the beginning of the preaching of the gospel authoritatively by his disciples."
And not only them but us too. I believe the scripture said ,if ANY man thirst he/ she shall have rivers of living waters coming out of their bellies. This experience is just not for the early disciples. These living waters that flow out of the belly of man are available to "any man."
Greek word for belly is { koy lee ah} figurative or literal"abdomen or heart.
Greek word for heart is { kar dee ah} the thoughts or feelings
Interesting enough is the belly could be your FEELINGS. How many times have we heard negative talk about those who go by their "feelings." These "feeling "people to me are heart people.I love heart people who aren"t afraid to share their feelings. And when Christ is behind those feelings ; could that possibly be virtue or the annointing of the Spirit. Please share your "feelings "in this matter. I believe this could be an interesting post. Yes, I am diffently a feelings person. If Christ Jesus is truly in your heart ,then I would bet you are too.
I hope you have a great day in the Lord.
Love,
Chuck
Chuck; I wanted to post a reply this AM but was pressed for time. You were right, I do like what I read here. I just hope that those who are looking for the truth are reading your studies and researching them for themselves. There is a lot of truth here that is often overlooked.
Yes ,I noticed the post get only a few replies. However; I willl keep them up just because of what it is doing in my own life. Tomorrow will be my last one for a while. Goose is going to start on Wednesday and finish up chapter 8 for me. It will enrich his life also. Thanks for the reply Snooky.
If you post something controversial you will get lots of replys.LOL
However; I'm amazed at how few love the Truth. I'm doing my best to leave the slants out.

Chuck; The reason for the lull in relpy's to your leason is that those who were screaming about being picked on just a couple of weeks ago have now found someone that they can bash. Kinda funny how that works. Kinda like the pot calling the kettle black. Those who really love truth are still reading. Those given to bashing are not really seeking truth but just another debate. Your lessons get quite close to home sometimes. Keep up the good work.

Its not the heart (or belly)Chuck- its the brain- its not heart blockages that stops ppl feeling but mental road blocks( mine has some). The heart only pumps blood- the brain controls it all.A fatty organ little understood.Feelings( besides outside stimuli) are emotions ppl act on good& bad- when they should probbly use there head instead.
So if you need a heart transplant- dont worry you will be the same person without your own heart- it has notting to do with who you are.
Everyone has a heart- tho it might not seem like it& a brain.Brain cells cant regenerate like other cells- but we can relearn things& or new ways to see things that where always there.
God gave us all a brain like no others in this world - yet you hear ppl all the time saying.... We are ONLY human.
.................................................. ...............
We make our animals more human everyday(by acting on emotions) & think we are more human/humain-it is not& neither are they.

Ro 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the Sons of God.
Gal 5:16 Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
Those who are so against following ones feeling have a hard time giving a biblical explanion of these passages. The leading of the Spirit causes "feelings". Failure to follow those feelings is refered to as "quenching the Spirit". 1 Thes 5:19. It is hard to accept these actions without admitting to a modern day infilling of The Holy Ghost. To say that the Spirit is only to enlighten one to the correct interpretation of the word, teaches that one is saved by education as those who never learn to read could not know what the scripture has said therefore they would never be led. The Spirit will never lead one into an act of sin against God.
Those who do not allow the following of their feelings, as a rule, have very dead, very dry, very strict, very formal, very legalistic churches where the Spirit of God is taught against.
Jesus came that we might have life and that more abundantly.
