Characteristics of a good church.

Name the 3 most important things to you when looking for a church to join.

I'll go first.

1. There are no perfect churches but I do want one that is following the basics
a. Immersion baptism
b. preaching out of the Bible and not other sources
c. Jesus is worshipped
d. Church is striving after holiness

2.Pastor is striving to walk in the spirit of love.
a. friendly
b. likes me and my family
c.makes home / hospital visits.

3. atmosphere is one of love.

In return they can expect my finantial support and help where it is needed.

The church of choice for me would have the same qualities as those of the Pastor. The Pastor would be equally as important as the church body as he will guide the church in its walk with God, both through his preaching and teaching, and his example in living. The church will reflect it's leadership.

1. Must seek after the truth.

2. Must be Spirit led.

3. Must have the true love of God within.

1-Must be a missionary minded church

2-Must adhere to the same doctrine as the New Testament church.

3-Must have a pastor that preaches the true gospel..
and all of the things already mentioned..

Very true. When a church / individual reaches out to others whether foreign or local they will be blessed.

1. Prophets and apostles, as the original church of Christ did
2. Temples and temple ordinances, as the original church of Christ did
3. Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone, as the original church of Christ did

Immersion baptism

I am not sure about this one. Since I was only a couple of weeks old when I was baptized I fear immersion baptism might have drowned me.

Non-denonmination as the church in the bible was.

Have elders to over see not one pastor(doesn't call the preacher pastor but rather "preacher" because thats what he is) over everything.

Worship as the new testament church did.(In doing so this covers Lord's supper, baptism, etc........)
