John A review of some promises / encouraging words
Dear Beloved,
Before we continue to move on I thought we would review 7 promises we have looked at so far.
1.John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Greek Word"for power.{ Ex soo see ah} Competency, Superhuman,Freedom, Authority,Liberty,Right. My favorite part"just to be called a son of God.
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
2.John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
We are all "whosoevers" and we will not perish{ ap ol loo mee} to die or be destroyed. But we are living abundant lives and look forward to everlasting life as well. We are truly a blessed people.
3. 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He did not come to condemn us.{ kree sis} accusation, damnation, divine law but that we would be saved..{ sode zo} to be healed, preserve, make whole, deliver, and protect.
Thank you Lord. We need to remind ourselves of these sometimes when we are tempted to be over whelmed with doubt and unbelief.God loves you and me. He is our protector ,healer and is preserving our souls.
4.John6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Those who know Jesus won"t need to go looking else where. He fills the void that we all have had when we were lost. He is all we need.Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
5.John6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
His love receives all who come to Him. This verse says that we must belong to the Father or we wouldn"t have come to Him in the first place.
6.6:39And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And ALL that"s you and I as well.We shall be raised and "I shall lose nothing." Jesus" says I WILL LOSE NOTHING.HE WILL NOT LOSE US. WE ARE HIS SHEEP .
23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Yes ,there will be those dark valleys but don"t fesr," FOR THOU ART WITH ME."
7.John6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
We have all been taught of the Father through others witnessing, His Spirit wooing us toward the things of God , His creation that speaketh to us, circumstances ,His Word , songs and all the other ways that God gets us still enough to speak to us.
1 Peter5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
God Bless you ,
And have a great day beloved of the Lord.
In Christ Jesus,
Chuck

promises.... one or one hundred of 'em....I take them ALL with a grain of salt these days. Even those from Him.....Sad, ain't it...but true. Blessed are those who can find solace in 'em..............

it's funny... that we "serve" a "great" God...when Jesus said we were NOT servants ,but friends... and a friend is not a servant, nor expected to be one, or treated AS ONE.This is a deeper subject than the surface leads one to believe.

Butch,
You know the Bible quite well. Have you gotten hurt brother? I happen to be in one of my mountain top days but I also am close enough to earth to know that the ole world can throw a pretty mean curve sometimes. But...it's never really God's fault. Fact, when that happens I come to Him even faster for our joy and life is in him. Sorry if your bummed friend.
Sincerely,
Chuck

I'm sorry you feel that way Butch.
no biggie Chuck..not really...just as every board I've ever bought at saw mill or lumber yard had 2 sides...so does Gods' word....2 edged sword ring a bell? (they used 2 for a reason in that scripture)..

Butch,

well...we differ there... as I see it as God created EVERYTHING .....good and bad. NOONE can take credit for creating anything, other than God.It's written plain as day. So as God made balance(perfectly, too I might add)... Good and Evil.....love and hate.... obedience and disobedience...life and death... He must assume that guilt...HE made it for a reason.
I know His plan was Higher than innocent or guilty, so that issue doesn't bother Him so as I can see.
RE: John A review of some promises / encouraging words
Butch,
I have carried enough guilt for the both of us. I've worked with swimming pool victims whose IQ went down to 20. In school...thier yearly goal was to swallow there food and give eye contact. I've been through many fleshly battles but you are right....the biggest is the BURDEN of GUILT. I don't care what you have done to 'deserve' such guilt. The Lord has already dealt with your sin and guilt. he does not want you carrying it any longer. I DON"T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. The blood of JESUS is powerful enough to cover that sin. There are many of us on this forum who have felt the same way. The difference is we have recieved forgiveness by FAITH. Don't carry it no longer Butch. NO SIN IS TOO MUCH FOR GOD TO FORGIVE.
love ya,
Chuck
PS ..Butch ,I used to live in such guilt I would fast often thinking that was the only way God would hear me. No ,the scripture says God doesn't put condemnation on us,our sin does that. Sin is powerful. The quickest thing you can do besides praying and believing for forgiveness is walking in mercy and love. The Bible says that "love covers a multitude of sin." Jesus is the answer not the problem brother. Our sin is the problem. Jesus paid to big of a price for you and I to walk around in guilt and condemnation.
Your friend,
