1 John 5:7----KJV
"For there are three that bear record in heaven,
the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and
these three are one."
NIV: "There are three that testify."
It then skips to verse eight, omitting the deity of
Christ and the Trinity.
ASV: "the three agree as one"
This does not mean the same as "these three are one."
NWT: "For there are three witness bearers."
The rest is omitted, totally removing the deity of
Christ and the Trinity.
I could go on and on, but I will make it short.
If you do a research, only 50% of the KJV is
printed in the NIV or the other versions.
That's why I posted Does everyone know what
"Original Texus Receptus" mean's?

According to the college that I went to ,The King James Version was the only one that contained no errors. All of the other versions had some. Some more than others. And at that time the college wasn't even pushing King James;they were pushing American Standard. But a panel of Greek scholars came and when they were finished ,The King James was without any mistakes.

Yes Rebel but to be honest with you I have never heard of that term before. I hate to act like I know something when i really don't.It has a way of kicking ya in the butt later.LOL

I've read on some web sites that this verse was changed, or added to by a monk, or scribe, in writing the KJV, and that it never existed (that way) in any original texts. Anyone else ever heard that?

I've read that article before. That website was posted here a little while back. Here it is: KJV
From what I have read , you guys are right. It wasn't in any of the original 5000 greek texts, but was included from a later manuscript that was produced by the Roman Catholics from the vulgate, . . .if my memory is serving me.

As some of you probably already know, the KJV is a revision of a translation -- not a direct translation from the manuscripts. The only perfect version is the original manuscripts. The KJV is certainly a good one, but not the only source. I read the NIV and NASB because they're easier to understand and I've never had a disagreement with any of my fellow church members, my pastor or my parents (ALL KJV backers) over what one version said versus another. Certainly the wording is different, but the meaning is the same. Any differences didn't change any of our core beliefs and we're still in agreement over pretty much everything we read in any of those versions.
