Default St.John 4: 31-38 Time for MEAT

Good Morning Friends,

This portion of scripture was sandwiched in the middle of the Women at the well story.
Verse 31.His disciples prayed him saying,"Master ,eat." Now folks , I don"t know if the 45 mile hike was broken up in legs or not ,but that is a long haul. In the service we had one road march over 30 miles. We were carrying some soldiers who were crying.Their broken blisters were huge. So I can see why the disciples were concerned for food.
4:32
But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
And of course the disciples did not have a clue in what Jesus was talking about.
4:33
Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
4:34
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
Meat is what mature Christians eat.
1 Corinthians3:1
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
3:2
I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3:3
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
Folks we on this forum need to take heed to those last 3 verses. Let"s not walk as men.Let"s walk as Christ walked.
Hebrews5:13
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
5:14
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil

John 4 35-38
4:35
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
4:36
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
4:37
And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
4:38
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

"Verse 35Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields,
that they are white already unto harvest. The harvests in the natural world are slow. But turning their eyes toward Sychar, the disciples could see the citizens of the town in their white garments pouring forth to see Jesus, and to be gathered by him as a harvest of disciples which had sprung up and ripened from the seeds of truth sown by the woman but a few moments before. Spiritual sowing brings speedy harvests."
Verse 35-36 There is joy in reaping souls and yes we should take care of our pastors.
5:17
Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
5:18
For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

Verse 37-38
And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours
The prophets and John the Baptist have sowed the seeds and now it is time for the disciples to reap a harvest.
Thought"When we are feeding on meat we will tend to advoid the carnal strife and bickering and focus more on the the Father"s will; the reaping of souls.
Titus3:9
BUT AVOID FOOLISH QUESTIONS, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Let"s build those spiritual muscles folks".eat meat. Find out what God's will is for you and do it.

12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but BE yeTRANSFORMED by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, WILL OF GOD.

Love ya,
Chuck
