Default John 3:9-17 For God so loved the World

John 3:9-17 - Nicodemus says, "How than these things be?"
Verse 10 - "Art thou a master of Israel and knoweth not these things?"
Okay hunters, I"m shooting from the heart again.
Verse 11 - "Verily, verily I say unto thee, we""
Who is the we? Look at John 8:28, "I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me I speak these things. Look at Ephesians 1:11, "Who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will." I believe the we is the Father and the Son. "Verily, verily I say unto thee, we speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and you received not our witness."
Verse 12 - "If I have told you earthly things, and ye believed not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?"
Verse 13 - "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven."
Verse 14 - "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up."
Here is the serpent situation. The account is in the Book of Numbers, chapter 21. Because of complaining the Lord sent fiery serpents and many of the people died. Some of the terrified people went to Moses, thus Moses went to the Lord. The Lord had Moses make a brass serpent and mount it on a pole. As long as the Jewish people looked upon the brazen serpent, and although they were bitten, they would not die. When our hearts are fixed on Jesus the sting of death has no power on us.
Verse 15 - "That whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
Verse 16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Verse 17 - "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."
God loves us. This heaven and hell situation is so real that He sent Jesus to be tortured by cruel and wicked men to ransom our souls. Hebrews 2:3, "How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation."

In His Service,
Chuck
