Default Leaf's Wife On Miracles

Praise the Lord everyone.. This is Mac's wife, Elizabeth. I have watched his involvement on this thread with quite a bit of interest. We frequently discuss the different threads and posts. I am usually content to stay in the background but on this one thing I could not keep quiet. It is regarding miracles. I personally know several people who have been recipients of a miracle in their life. Knowing this in such a personal way, I just don't see how some people can deny the power of God in men's lives in this day and age. So I could not keep quiet. This is some of what I have seen.....

My former babysitter had a bone marrow disease. It was to the point where something had to be done or she would not live. She was in agonizing pain in the hospital. She could not afford to have medical treatment. I remember the day my pastor called us together to pray for her in the hospital room. We all firmly believe in the power of prayer. Within a week's time after that prayer meeting, my babysitter came home with no sign of bone marrow disease at all. To this day she is totally healed!

A close relative of mine that lives in Mexico had diabetes. She had to take insulin every day. She was not a christian at the time. She was talked in to attending a camp meeting in Sinaloa Mexico. The brethren prayed for her and she gave her life to the Lord. When she went home that night she threw up a huge bloody mass, the size of a grapefruit. After that she went to the doctor and he confirmed that she no longer had diabetes. She was totally healed and no longer had to take insulin nor keep a special diet.

I have another brother in Christ from Mexico that had no body movement from his neck down. The doctors said that he would never be able to walk and would have to take medicine the rest of his life. His mother would feed him through a straw. One day, she got desperate and called the brethren from church. They picked him up and carried him to church and layed him at the altar and layed hands on him in prayer. Within the next few days he got up and had full use of his body, even after the doctors had said he would never walk. He has never had to take any of the medication they prescribed.

One of my fostermothers also had diabetes. She was to the point that she could not get out of bed. She could not even lift a finger. She was a well-off woman that had been offered a position in the White House by President Carter. She cried out to God one day from her bed, and told the Lord that if He healed her she would give up her job and work fulltime for His ministry. Needless to say.....she was healed! She no longer had diabetes and went to work as a fulltime church secretary for a poor Hispanic church and chose to live by faith, even though it meant living in poverty. I lived with her during that time and personally saw how God provided for us even on days that it seemed we wouldn't have anything to eat. He never let us down, not one single day!

I have a brother in Christ that lives in Idaho. His Pancreas, Spleen, and stomach were laden with cancer. The doctors told him that there was no hope for him. They said that even if they operated on him he would die. He told them to operate anyway and the Lord would take care of the rest. They took out his stomach, his spleen, and half his pancreas and told him to go home and die, that he wouldn't live longer than two more weeks. Did he die? No way! Not only did he live, but to the doctor's amazement he grew back another stomach!

If I did not personally know each one of these people then maybe I would wonder whether it really was true or not. But I do know them. I do know without a doubt that God still works wonders today and that He is only limited by our lack of faith.

I hope that these testimonies will inspire somebody to have faith in a God that is still able to heal!
Lord Bless You all,
Elizabeth

Sister Elizabeth, I am one who agree's with you 100%. I also
have seen many miricles in my own family and friends. One
just have to witness a few to be a believer. I don't believe in
Man healers, only DIOS Y SU HIJO can.(GOD AND HIS SON).
GOD Bless you and your family,RH

One thing I have noticed is that our Lord seems to work more often among those that are limited in where they can get help. I believe poor folk more fully realize that the only hope we have is in the Lord and they have their eyes on Him only.
I truly believe that it is a lack of faith that keeps us from seeing more of God's mighty works in our world today. How long has it been since there has been a revival of any magnitude?
Anyone that knows Liz will tell you that she is not a woman given to extremes. She is well recieved everywhere she has ever been and a highly intelligent but humble servent of the Lord. She is a miracle in herself of human triumph over adversity thru our Lord.

EXACTLY what I saw in Nicaraugua... Miracles don't happen here, 'cuz we rely on hospitals and Drs. and drugs....but that also is a two sided argument. Those without SEEK harder, that's the truth. However we must realize:
God wounds..God heals... God creates...God destroys... He does what He wants, to whomever He choses(or allows!), whenever His "plan" calls for it. Miracles shouldn't be seen a Special, every-now-and-then event...especially about physical healings.Yes, they are real.... but.....
everyday's a Miracle...every birth....every season...you people gotta start lookin' beyond the "evidence",what ever it may be... and realize we'll NEVER know God fully.. and not nearly as much as we THINK we do.....

Those are great and inspirational stories Elizabeth, thanks for sharing. After watching my twins being born I'll never understand how someone could not believe in God.

Why is it a miracle when God answers a prayer? He said ask, He will give an answer. Thats not a miracle. If God loves everybody why doesn't he do miracles to help people believe in him? Wouldn't he heel the plauge of sin before some physical ailment that can not destroy the soul like sin does? You don't have an answer for him working a miracle in your friends lives and not in my friends lives. Why am I still alive? I have been in 7 wrecks where the car was totaled. I broke my feemer bone in my right leg in one broke my feet in others, tore the ACL in both knees in one and walked away from the others. My mother broke both feet in one wreck. A drunk driver hit us head on. Every bone in both her feet shattered. they wanted to cut em off. She said no and now 8 years later is walking. That is life!! Bad things happen to good people!!

2 Corinthians 1:3-8
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ"™s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort. For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself.

Those things happen so we can help others that they might happen too. Its not a miracle.

AWESOME! Those are wonderful testimonies of the power of the great God we serve. I'm sending those stories to my Christian friends and relatives who will be blessed by them as I was.
