How do you know that Jesus is the Messiah? Obviously the bible tells you so but how do you know that many of the stories told in the New Testament weren't just made up? Couldn't a group of guys come up with a false past for some guy to fit OT profecies about the Messiah?

Maybe I didn't make it clear but all I am looking for is some help. These are not my questions but questions I got from friends when discussing my faith. I didn't have very good answers to some of their questions so I'm just looking for a little help with my responses.

that. Many of us here will try to answer your questions, but we can't

The biggest problem is Jesus didn't write a single word in the bible nor did god. Alot of Christians (Like Rebel)

Knowledge is a powerful thing and yet the more you learn the less you find you know. By this I mean If I was to limit myself to learning one belief I will understand that belief and condemn all others but knowing about many beliefs has brought me to the conclusion we each have a path to follow if we keep our eyes open enough to see it right infront of us.

Jesus said that he is the "way, the truth, and the Light, and that no man goes to the father except through him". He also claims to be God. So you either believe he is God, or that he is a liar!!! Muslims claim he is a prophet- but not God- so if that is true, he is a lieing prophet!!!! The choice is simple- he is either a liar, he was crazy or a lunitic, or He is LORd (the Messiah promised in the Old Testament)

Thanks for being honest. I'm reminded of an old king who had the same thoughts as you; Nebuchadnezzar. By your answer it looks like you have counted the cost and you are right.You will have to put God ahead of your family, Walk in humility, believe in sin, pray for forgiveness, turn the other cheek ,forgive others and allow God to be judge. My wife had the same thoughts as she completed the New Testament.
Here's the other side of the coin my friend.I say that serious Bearmaster not just Christian words.I love honest people. When I read the New ,I believed there was a God, but living the Sermon on the Mount..No Way. Can't do it.Impossible. And I was tired of looking like a fool trying. Then after spending 30 days and nights in the woods ,the Lord woke me up .I SAW HIM CRYSTAL CLEAR. And I still could not live the Sermon on the Mount. Two months later,HE ,not another Christian but HE baptized me with the HOLY GHOST.NOW I can live the SERMON on the MOUNT, and still fall at times ,but am doing better than I was 27 years ago.
NO ONE CAN LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE APART FROM THE SPIRIT OF GOD.
This is why one must be Born Again.
