Default Paul's teachings

I'm at work, and don't have time to finde the verses right now, but I recall some verses where Pauls says something like "this comes from God and not me," and then later, "this comes from me, and not God..."

Do you know what I'm talking about?

Now, if the Bible is the inspired word, how can anything in it not come from God?

Stuggling a little with this one.

etothepii I read what you are talking about and I can see where you are coming from, it reads like you said, this is from God, but this is my opinion.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work."
2 Peter 3:14-16 "Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
It's still God's word.

Folks I give no apologies for the way that the Word is written. If the Bible says the sun is blue.I would confess that it is blue.I have faith in God no matter what my natural mind and eyes tell me. This is faith. I really know very little .I just trust in God.

I think what you are referring to is where Paul said he would that all men be as he was (single), but it was better to marry than to burn. I can't recall where it is either.

Chad ,
I think these are the only 2 verses in the New Testament where Paul appears to be given opinions.
1Corinthians 7:6But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
1 Corinthians7: 25Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.

It's not real important to me or I would do a study on the subject. I simply trust God. If it's real important to me I fast and pray. This is not one of those situations that call for that.LOL

Brother Chuck there is this also:

Quote:
I Cor: 7:12
But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
Here is an interesting verse refering to the law in the same chapter:

Quote:
I Cor: 7:39
The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
