Every day we all debate/discuss scripture and our take on it, now for the question.
On Judgement Day do you feel we will be Judged upon our understanding of scripture or will we be judged for what is in our hearts, our faith in Christ as our Saviour and how we have led our lives?
Possibly a combination of the above.
What about the illiterate or the mentally challenged?

The scripture says every man will be responsible for what he has recived. I'm in trouble,I have recieved alot. Handicapped folks are in good shape I do believe. I'm also hoping that the Baptist are correct.I hope we are saved totally by unmerited favor ..Grace.That's OK with me too.I'm making sure though.Keeping prayed up, read up ,fleeing from evil and striving to love em all.
Chuck
Taz, I sincerely believe that it is going to be our faith in Christ. It sounds simple and it is. Our faith in Christ will have us trust His Word and act upon it. Kinda like letting Him take our hand by His Word and being led by the Spirit in our lives. By our faith we will keep our eyes on Him, pressing onward to the end . . .and the beggining.

on the believers Judgement day we will be judged for our service to the Lord only..what we did and didn't do.. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15,
"11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."
We will not be judged for our faith but for what we did with our faith after we were born again..while here on earth,"We walk by faith not by sight." 2 Corin.5:7.. but when we get to heaven we will not need faith because then we walk by sight..
and yes, I believe God will take care of those who are mentaly ill, beyond understanding..and yes,Chuck, we who are Baptist believe Ephesians 2:8-9,
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: there is only one way to get to heaven and that is Jesus..Hs said in John 14:6,
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' that is plain enough for me..
Not of works, lest any man should boast."

I agree with motor and Dave as stated in Matthew25:31
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
25:32
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
25:33
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
25:34
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
25:35
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
25:36
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
25:37
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
25:38
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
25:39
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
25:41
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
25:42
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
25:43
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
25:44
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
25:45
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
25:46
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal 25
Wow, Taz.
Boy, is my answer gonna stir up a hornet's nest!
I believe:
A born again Christian is saved by grace through faith.
For such a person, the sin matter has been settled forever (past, present, and future sin). God will not see any sin on a Christian. The Christian's sin was placed upon Christ and the matter was settled at the cross.
Judgment for the Christian, then, will be a judgment about what rewards he will receive for the things he did to serve the Lord while in the body.
On the other hand, judgment for unbelievers will be a judgment about their eternal destiny.
