10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
[11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
According to verse 10 ,He,the Word, God in the flesh { Jesus} the creator of the world came to the world and the world did not recegonize Him.His own being the Jews. 11. But those who believe on him He gave { Power }to become the sons of God. ...POWER{ exousia}ability, priviledge, and authority.
!2 These are born of the will of God. Remember John 10:44 No man can come to Me ,except the Father which hath sent Me draw him;and I will raise him up at the last day.
Have a great day. Remember,.... John 15;16 Ye have not chosen Me ,but I have chosen you,and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit ,and that your fruit should remain;that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name ,He may give it you.
That is amazing. I looked up once on the net, maybe I'll find it; historians who were not Christians who interviewed Jesus. I'll pull that up sometime real soon.Very interesting. These non-believers saw a different man.Remember.."the common folks recieved him." That's you and I,just common folk.

Now this one I have questions on. What does it mean by "even them that believe his name"? How do they differ from those that received him? Also who is the "which" he is referring to in verse 13?

"As many as received Him." if one is an unbeliever, then as many that received him means that they, whether they be Jew, Gentile, rich, poor, whoever can be born again..the Light came for all men to see, that includes everyone and to those who reveive the Light He gives power to become the sons of God..notice He gives the power, you can't buy it, work for it or get it any other way except as a gift of God..Romans 6:23..
"Even to them that believe on his name." keyword being ON, meaning committal..When we believe on Him a new birth taskes place..again when we receive Jesus and committ our lives to him, we are given the power to become the sons of God.God does the borning all we have to do is receive the Lord Jesus Christ and believe on His name..

Yes ,but at this point in time.Jesus came for the Jews.Romans11 says ,then He blinded the eyes of the Jews until the fulness of the Gentiles.Yes ,salvation is for all.I'm looking at when Jesus was still alive.
I'll give ya some scripture...
John 1;11 He came unto His own ,and His own recived Him not.
7:25
For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
7:26
The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
7:27
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. {the gentiles}
7:28
And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
7:29
And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
7:30
And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
7:31
Matthew 10:5
These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
10:6
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
There are at least 50 more references. God is all knowing and all powerful. This was part of his plan to save the entire world. Jesus knew what he was doing when He spoke John 3.16.But everything in His time. Paul was later sent as an apostle to the Gentiles with a message of Faith. We are justified by faith. Romans 11 says when the fullness of the Gentiles are saved ,God will open up the eyes of the Jews to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Hope this is clear,
Chuck
yes, those are great verses and thanks for posting them but in the verses we are studying He is including all for salvation not just the Jews..verse 7 says that John the Baptist came to bear witness of Light that ALL men through him might believe..In John chapter 4, the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well, Jesus witnessed to her. another time was the one you mentioned, the greek woman in Mark 7:26.. yes he told the Disciples to go to the Jews but He would turn no one away, be it jew, greek or gentile..
