We aren't separate from nature. But because we're at the top of the food chain we have a unique view of it.
It's a myth that conservatives can't be environmentalists. The fact is that, IMHO, conservatives tend to be more realistic and less apt to be duped by the hysteria that is coming out of today's environmental "movement."
Just trying to connect religion with the Health of this planet.
We'd first need to agree on what the health of the planet is. Do you think we're doomed or something? Exhausting our natural resources at an irreplacable rate, polluting our lakes and streams, burning a hole in the protective layer of the atmosphere, killing off hundreds of species a year all so that we can continue an extravegant lifestyle in America?

Took the words out of my mouth, NCO. Every steel and concrete building we make is natural; we are from this earth just as much as any other living thing. We just build things differently because we're a different kind of species.
With all of the 'humans-be-damned environmentalism' we deal with from self-haters and other assorted whackos, it's very important to note the difference between environmentalism and conservation. It is very possible to protect our natural surroundings and ourselves at the same time. You take an animal, give something back (habitat management, etc.). We don't have to let sub-human animals have the run of the land in order to keep our ecosystems balanced.
