What in the wide, wide world of sports were the regents thinking of then they changed the name of the Marquette Golden Eagles to the "Marquette Gold" ???

In all my life, I don't think I've ever heard of anything to stupid as what they did...and apparantly about 95% of the people think the same way. !!!!

NFL team Philadelphia Eagles will soon chance their name too. I heard its going to be either the Philadelphia Sucks, Philadelphia Chokes or Philadelphia Blows - they haven't decided for sure yet

What I like is the original mascot "willie wampum" was crap canned decades ago and an indian student drew a picture of an indian warrior as the new symbol.

Now it's considered derogatory so they went to "golden eagles"... now "gold" ...

Alumni want warriors back but the school has gotten so politically correct that a simple word can't be used.

I suggested to them in the past "The Germanic Horde" and "Germanic Warriors" so as not to offend any sensitive groups...
