Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default 100,000 dead in one night

I was watching the history channel and there was a show on about the fire bombings we did in WW2. Over 100,000 were killed in Tokyo in one night. The attack burned 16 sq miles. It sort puts into perspective how careful we are now.

The General that initaited the raids stated if we had lost the war he would have been tried for war crimes.

How about Dresden, Eto etc.

but you have to be very careful with the stats you're throwing around. Between Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq we have killed 40,000 civilians.

Has to be hundreds of thousands. If you take situations such as the red army marching into Berlin and the United States knowingly not doing anything about them killing women and children the numbers could potentially approach a million.

I just read a site that said over 30 million Russians died.

What would the press of today be doing with this info?

I'm sorry that any Americans have died but seriously our casualties have been very limited. How many died in one day at Normandy etc?

I would like to know how many of those were actually killed by Stalin and the KGB/military. In one century the Soviets killed between 70 and 110 million of their own.

The fire raids on ***an killed far more people than the atomic raids did. Dresden and Hamburg were bad, but didn't approach the damage inflicted on the ***anese cities.
