Is someone's I.Q. directly proportional to their ability to cuss
Not only do I teach, but council many kids. I have noticed kids who have lower I.Q.s tend to be very well versed in the use and understanding of cuss words. Not all, but a large proportion.
Is this because the parents pass this on with a direct correlation of low I.Q. to the lack of work with the child.
Or is it because of the low I.Q., the only way to express ones self is in such a manner.
Or is it because they are low learners and know no better.
Or is it because society deems it appropriate in the media and music so they fill it is the norm.
Or does this show they are lazy leading to their low I.Q.s, and chose not to engage in activities that better prepare themselves to communicate with others, like read.
This is disturbing and I know many kids use foul language, but what I am talking about is in the amount of use and timing. What do yall think?

I think many of them are too stupid to use alternative words....... Also, they deem education, reading, etc un-cool and refuse to do it...... In many areas, talking appropriately with clear, concise sentences is deemed "dorky"

Tooks the words right out of my mouth. If a person has difficulty articulating himself, commonly he will use more "colorful" vocabulary to liven the message up.
But environment plays a big part in subconscious cussing. My grandpa said some really interesting things when he was red with rage or hurt himself significantly, and not surprisingly it made its way down the bloodline to my dad and me.
And yes, there is the whole "cool factor" of children speaking like their "adult" role models.

Aught, everybody cusses to some extent, but most of us use different language when talking to our boss than we would at our local poker game........

My boss is into poker. I don't want to get too specific, but his last name rhymes with a certain four letter word beginning with "f". Sometimes I like to use that "f" when addressing him.
But I know what you're saying. If I talked to clients like I talked to my friends, I wouldn't be working right now. There's a time and a place for everything. If only we could get that through to people.

As a former member of a Board of Education, I once knew a school superintendent who used the most vulgar, obscene language I have ever heard. He had an earned doctoral degree. However, he did have the good sense to refrain from such speech in the presence of students. However, he was one crude individual.
In short, I'm not sure you can categorize or "pigeonhole" the reasons for such behavior. You have stated some of them, but a low IQ was certainly not this superintendent's problem!
No, he was just an immature jerk!
Sometimes, it's as simple as that!

It could be all of the above, however it could also be something else. Many people with high I.Q.'s may also believe that "cuss" words (not "swear" words) are simply that, words. I for one believe that the use of such words may or may not represent the actual intelligence of the individual. Generally perhaps, but not as a rule. I believe that talking is extremely habitual. IMO.
