Down with welfare
You cant pay for food, die.
If you are a single mom, tough. Feed your kids, or let them die.
If your spouse dies, tough you should have made arrangements. Find a way to make it or die.
If you lose your job, tough, find a way to make a living or die.

Why should my tax dollars go to help a program I am not part of, like highschool football. Opps, I mean welfare. It doesnt save anyone. Does not do anything to support the betterment of our society. It only promotes stelroids, opps I mean drug abuse. Not one single positive thing comes of it.
Like that broad brush approach.

Or lean on family, church, or charity. We don't have to let anyone die anymore than we have to support them with public dollars.

Are you crazy, social programs do help. You just have to look a little.
I'm sure they do help some people. My point is that people need to help themselves more. Once you ask the government to be your nanny, you've given up whatever independence you were created with.

"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have." --Thomas Jefferson
If people get disabled or sick, lose their jobs, or worse, and get support from the community, I guess we should just fund any and every request from the taxpayers with impunity.
After all keeping people from starving to death or freezing in the winter pales in comparison to making sure that little Joey gets to play in the dirt in front of others on a Friday night.
You sure you weren't a long-jumper in high school? You have a talent for great leaps of reasoning on this one.
The Associated Press cited a 2003 Texas A&M study of seventh- through 12th-graders, which found nearly 42,000 (or 2.3 percent) of Texas students admitted to using steroids.
Now lets see...how many kids are in the average high school? Not sure, so lets say maybe 800...so maybe 26 kids are using steroids...hmmm...if there are 100 kids playing football, thats what?...maybe only 1 out of 4 using roids? Not bad. You just have to keep intensely focused on the kids that are "saved" by sports. See? Easy stuff, this rationalization thing.
