I can understand the need for a dress code that forbids visible underwear , or obviously obscene graphics or words , but this is just stupid .
All I see this principal demonstrating is what a small wiener he's trying to compensate for by punking some kids who are just trying to have some fun . The most popular t-shirt slogan for seniors at my school in '78 said "Go to Hell world , I'm a Senior !" , and nobody told them to change or suspended them . Banning gang paraphernalia and skimpy blouses can be rationalized , but banning an innocent double entendre is pushing it in my book . [:@]

I graduated 4 years ago, and I can safely say it wouldn't fly then and probably still wouldn't now. We had a fairly strict dress code, mainly because if you let people push the issue, they will keep pushing further and further.
Quote:
When dozens of Baker School students defied the edict by wearing the "Kiss" T-shirt earlier this month they were warned suspensions would follow if they persisted.
They got what they deserved, and the school took appropriate action.

"I (heart) my vagina" buttons and t-shirts are catching on with female high school students in Winona, MN. What would happen if someone wore a t-shirt to school that said, "I (heart) my pecker", I wonder?
Lol, I won't get into the kinds of t-shirts I wore to school.
Personally, I think the two t-shirts in question are hilarious! For many, many people, their senior year in high school is the height of their young lives. Let them go out with a smile on their faces!
When I read the article, I pictured a bunch of old farts milling around the administration, getting bent out of shape by something they really don't understand. What a waste of time and effort.
