A friend sent this to me and it's well worth remembering. Seems like England still doesn't get it that gun control just doesn't work.

April 19, 1775
Watching "The Patriot" reminded me of this important event in American History. We must never forget that ultimately, gun control results in a represive government imposing whatever it wants... Lest we forget!

April brings many dates to remember, but April 19 is the most important for gun owners and all freedom loving individuals! That day in 1775, the British army marched on Concord Massachusetts to "seize powder and ball" from the local civilian (AKA: Militia) storehouse. Along the way, they were breaking down doors and seizing guns from private citizens such as you and I.
The citizens were warned of their approach by Paul Revere and other patriots; "To arms! to arms! The British are coming!" Armed and ready they were, and when the British closed in on Concord and tried to cross the bridge to the armory, they met the "militia" composed of private citizens protecting their rights, their homes and their guns! The "shot heard "˜round the world" rang out, and in the battle that followed, the British were chased away and our never ending battle for freedom began! (As illustrated by the continued onslaught of "common sense gun control," the battle for our guns still rages!)
There are those who suggest that the second amendment does not guarantee the individual the right to own a gun. Remind them of the simple lesson of April 19, 1775! Those were not soldiers that defended their guns on that day, those were citizens! All of our rights we take for granted came from that experience!
The price of liberty is eternal vigilance!
