Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I was wondering why does United States always take canada's forests and water and oil and alot of other stuff?
And why do people always brag that U.S.A. is better than canada or anywhere else?

thanks not trying to start anything I was just wondering out of curiosity.

It's called Trade, it's what civilized nations do when one has something another needs in exchange for Money. Both sides in the trade should be satisfied or they have the option to not trade anymore.

If other "Stuff" includes an inordinate amount of bad press from the Canadian media and flack from self serving Canadian politicians, I agree, why do we take it?

As for bragging, although we may at times sound off about one thing or another, I don't see a lot of bragging going on. I do perceive a rather well developed inferiority complex on the part of our neighbors to the North, perhaps because since WWII they haven't done squat to help defend themselves or the rest of North America other than to Lease some space to the U.S. Military on occaision for electronic listening posts and the like.

No one forces you to sell us any thing btw.

Bragging? We're the last Superpower on the globe.

Alot of the resource issues were driven by corporate agendas for trade with canada. We have the ability (for instance) to harvest and replant over 200 Million board feet of timber every year, but under the guise of "environmentalism" this was stopped. And we now buy it all from canada.

If you didn't sell that stuff to the US, your economy would really be in a shambles.

The oil, forests, etc. come here because of the $.

As for people arguing which country is better, that's like the Ford vs. Chevy argument. Although Chevy is better, you just can't convince some Ford people otherwise.

Ohhhh, okay. Sure you're not. No, the tone and wording of your questions is purely educational.
