Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default say goodbye to 70% of the human race...

that's how many bird flu cases result in death.

they might want to funnel some money into vaccine research...quickly.

you don't feel that vaccines should be developed based on the deaths that have already occurred, in anticipation of a human pandemic?

human pandemic - I dunno, I'm a little numb to it all really. Hundreds of thousands of lives are ended every year by TREATABLE diseases. The untreatable ones ? Would it matter if we did have vaccines ? I suppose in countries that USE them it would - which is why a pandemic in the USA isn't very likely. if I were in Africa I'd be a nervous cat. South America near a jungle - nervous. Here in this country ? Not

The bird bug is pretty well limited to China and the incidences are relatively minor.

Did you know that the common cold kills 35,000 in the US every year?

Yep. Vaccines make everyone feel safer, but they're not a magic bullet to end all of our health problems.

We must remember that we do not control our environment. We can live in it, work in it, and manage it to a certain extent, but the spread of disease is as natural as the wind blowing. When populations get too large, sanitation takes a dive, and people start dying until the ecosystem balances itself out again. We see a very similar thing with deer every year in the country. We're mammals, too, you know?

I'm pretty sure I don't have the bird flu - but I do have a severe case of the "Oil Flu". My prices are rising at a "Feverish" pace and I feel "Nausiated" when I near a gas pump.
You'll feel better if you just huff a little more deeply.
