Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Over the top

I just hear Bush's remarks about the Pope on the radio. There he goes again spouting off about Pope being a great promoter of freedom. I can't take it. John Paul was against Communism, but he did not approve of Bush's Gulf War and was highly critical of Western capitalism an their treatment of the poor. John Paul also was no fan of Bush's record of executing people. Bush has crossed the line this time, trying to make it sound like the Pope supported his ideas, when in fact, they had shared few values.

You know I really could care less of what the pope thought, same as I don't care about Falwell, Farahkan, Jackson or any other religious leader.

I think comparing the leader of a COUNTRY (yes, Vatican City is a country), and leader of a Church with over 1 billion members worldwide, to Falwell, a goof with a tiny fraction of followers who really has no formal religious association (he claims to be Baptists but is not associated with the Baptist Church in anything other than name) is a little pretenious and uniformed on your part.

Personally I don't see the Vatican as a country or the pope as a leader of a country. He was a man, no more, no less. He often spoke out on issues he had no business speaking on yet remained silent on issues he should have spoken on. Head of state though, hardly.
