Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Freedom.... Where's the line? What is it?

Freedom. A frequent subject for many of us out here. We think we know what it means. We know that we don't want any freedoms taken away. So, what is freedom? Is it the ability to hold a babe over a 14' salivating crock without court time involved? Or, how about the ability to make a mistake in life without your life being taken for it? Do we grant gay marriages in the name of freedom? How about letting a husband dictate the future of his brain-dead wife? What if a female masseuse wants to make a few extra bucks during a session - is this prostitution? So it's illegal in most states... who cares? How does it effect you and I? Shea Riecke.... a highschool girl not being allowed to show her brother's war pictures on school grounds because the pic showed him holding his firearm. The same firearm protecting our freedoms. Why? Aren't we about freedom in this country? Or did we throw that out many moons ago?

I've often wondered if we were really to follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers what would happen? Would we defend the Constitution? Would we protect ourselves from the government?

Freedom..... what is it?

I look at it this way , you have the right to swing your arm any way you choose to. But your freedom to swing your fist ends where my nose begins.

Complete freedom would just be anarchy ,
conditional freedom isn't really free .

Hmmm ...

OK, I'm having a philosophy 101 flashback:

The Platonic ideal of freedom is impossible to achieve. We can only strive for it, and understand that impefections toward that end are inevitable.

How's that?[&:][:'(]

I'll take the 112th on this one. The right not to answer cause I might make myself look foolish.

Badshot there is absolute freedom which as someone already mentioned would be anarchy.

We have limited freedom which allows us to do many things, but not everything we wish.

Are some of our freedoms being restricted to severly? You are darn right they are, but the only ones to blame are ourselves for not voting in representatives to gaurd them and allowing our representatives to put judges who rule in favor of removing freedoms that we should be allowed.

I can only speak for myself on this, but I would, but then again I vote also! What would the government have to take from me before I would be willing to revolt due to them taking away freedoms that are gauranteed by the Constitution? I will be honest and say that I am not sure where that line is on everything, but don't try to take my guns is one line that is drawn in stone!
