I have heard more than one person say that they wish Powell would run for president. I am now hearing from folks that they think Rice would make a good president and they would vote for her.
If the ticket was Powell/Rice or Rice/Powell would you have voted for them over Bush or Kerry?
I find it amazing to think that 15 years ago to think about a woman or a black man being president was assumed to be 100 years off in the future.
How amazing would it be for the First Black face (both pres. and v.p.) in the oval office either man or woman to happen in the next 12 years or so?
I for one would have voted for Powell/Rice or Rice/Powell over Bush or Kerry.
Thanks
Mr-Pirk

Any ticket with powell on it wouldnt get my vote. he's too close to the middle/left for my tastes. Condi Rice i can see as a VP, but i dont think this country is ready for a woman president yet, not for about 20 years.
I like her, but she is a woman. I'd feel better if a man was actually running the most important job in the world.
Powell...no. He's way to liberal for me.

Powell/Rice or Rice/Powell would never run against Bush.
They could run agaist Clinton/Kerry or Kerry/Clinton?
I would vote for Powell/Rice or Rice/Powell anytime over Clinton/Kerry or Kerry/Clinton.
The United States of America, in all its great diversity, is not, I repeat, NOT, ready for a black man, and woman, to be running the country. Regardless how you look at it, there is still too much racism in this country; this ticket would have NO CHANCE at winning. Having said that, it is an interesting idea though.

I'm not sure it is all a question of race. Powell has stated many times he does not want the job and Rice is by no means qualified for her present position...let alone a higher one.
