Weise, school shooting question
It has been said that a few kids knew he was going to shoot up the school and particular people. My question; should there be criminal charges filed on these kids for with holding information that could have saved a bunch of lives?

Idle threats are made every femtosecond of the day in this country.
If we start turning people in for idle threats we will have become worse than Stalin's soviet union.
This is true. But I thought this kid was a fairly unstable kid and everyone was aware of that? Think of it this way, if a kid at school mentioned in passing to another kid that he was thinking of killing him/herself, the school would be all over it. They'd drag in counsellors, doctors, etc in and give the kid a mental exam. Mention that you were thinking of killing others and they don't take it seriously enough.
We have youth sports during the summer where I live. On one particular day, one of the children said "I'm going to get my dads gun and shoot you." to another kid. The child was kicked out of the program, the parents and LEO where notified. The child ended up going in for a psych eval. The parents where told by LEO that they would be keeping records, and if any such incident happened again, there would be serious consequenses.
Local LEO new about the danger and chose not to act, why do you think they are trying to STOP the outside investigative reporting. They don't want the truth to come out. After all, wasn't it a LEO firearm? LEO transpertation that got him there? The grandfather, in this case, didn't take the "warning signs" serious.
Any kid threatens another, we must stop it. Tards argument that this

is unacceptable. DUI, ROBBERY, RAPE, and MURDER also happen all the time. Stop the root cause (insults, fear, bigotry) and we stop the trend.

Oh please, be realistic miss manners.
How many times as a kid did you hear "keep it up and i'm gonna kill you"...
bet I heard that one a million times in my life and never did i take one of them seriously.
The language police ain't gonna solve a darn thing.

...I agree with tardfarmer....
Had he thretened a teacher during a class, and other students were arare of what he said...maybe that would have beeen different.
It seems to me almost every time we hear of something horrible like this happening...there's always a comment about how he could/should have been stopped because of telltail sighs. Idle threats are one thing...actions are another.

I was an angry, dark teenager. Apparently nowhere close to this punk, but still a lot of kids go through phases like that. You can't look at one kid and says he's destined to murder based on his morbid imagery.
