Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Look at the history of the earth's climate. We are currently in a slight upswing from a cold spell.

It's cyclic in nature and was worse during the industrial revolution then tended to get colder.

Lets see .......... earth is billions of years old .... we've monitored the temperatrues .00000000000004 % of the time the earth has been in existance ........ heck yeah, I think its fair to say we have a good solid sampling to make a definitive decision - don't you ?

I'm all in favor or warmer weather, more moisture in the air .......... sounds good to me ! Lets melt some ice bergs and glaciers, have a party !

Yes data,

But even the small amount of data we do have points to it being a hoax that totally contradicts the nonsense of "global warming".

Did you know that recently astrophysicists have noted the polar ice caps on Mars are melting? So it's the inhabitants of mars, right?

None of these "studies" takes into account the fluctuations of the sun or even the oceans - which are the two major sources of energy/greenhouse gases on earth.

For the life of me I can't figure out what is the motive other than some whack jobs who hate the "horseless carriage".

The one thing that has been proven is that our pollution IS affecting the climate (Ozone hole etc.) to ignore the situation and to play politics with it is pure insanity and is a sign of either ignorance of the science - or worse - malignant denile driven by political partisanship.
Yeah thats it, it certainly has not been proven. Volcanos produce 1000xs the amount of greenhouse gas as the entire civilized world. The only people playing politcs with this are the people running around saying the sky is falling, the sky is falling.

Some good points. In global warming, some people will be losers and others will be winners. Some regions presently unsuitable to agriculture may become adundantly productive. Desserts may bloom.

I don't agree that there is a concensus on human beings causing global warming. Reference Michael Crichton's discussions of the role of politicization of this global warming issue and previous episodes of politicized science -- for example the eugenics movement in the 1800s and its progeny. Hell, we didn't even know el nino and el nano were major weather patterns until recently. "Many's the slip 'twixt the cup 'n the lip" when dealing with something so politically loaded as the question "are CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels the dominant cause of currently observable global warming" question. No question the global temperatures are rising: the question is whether CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels is the dominant cause. I just don't buy that we understand the issue well enough to dramatically limit, nay, cripple our economies because maybe our fossil fuel burning is causing the problem.
