Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Out sourcing paying off for G.M.

Is't it a shocker American companys send their work over seas to save money.then are shocked when sales in U.S.A. plummet. G. M. doesn't understand why all those new Wal- mart jobs are not supporting S.U.V. sales in north America.
Just ask Greenspan those high paying service jobs will support a real boost in American life styles.
But the trade deficit is good too, we just don't understand it.[:'(]

Something isn't working. We do a lot of business with GM and during a monthly production meeting this morning, we were told that sales to GM is forecasted as lower than expected the next couple of months and lower than normal for this time of year. This means sales by GM must be lower. Sales to Catapillar is also lower at this time and although CAT tell us to expect a very good year, something must be up with their sales as well.

Ifferd, GM actually purchased 49% of Isuzu. No non-***anese company, American or otherwise has any ownership share of Toyota. Toyota is largely the family business of the Toyoda family of Nagoya, ***an. Toyota also has more cash than any other company in the world and if they wanted could probably buy 49% of GM.

My beautiful 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup says it was made in good ol' Fort Wayne, IN in the assembly plant. Name me ONE THING on my truck that is not made in USA (not counting tires).

The challenge has been set!

I recently added GM to my very exclusive list of car manufacturers that I would never buy from again, previously only Ford and Chrysler were on that list.

My wife's car with a Buick 3800 in it just crapped out for the 2nd time in 3 months. Seems GM 'improved' the nearly perfect and dead reliable Buick 3800 by replacing the perfectly good aluminum intake manifold with a platic P.O.S. I guess they improved it by saving $100 per car, pocketing the money, and assuring that every damn one of them engines will need an expensive manifold replacement or overhaul after 70,000 miles.

From the looks of things, the GM 3.1 and 3.4 L V-6s are even far worse lemons that can seize up without warning at any time around the same milage when the intake manifold gaskets get corroded through by the corrosive dexcool coolant which then dumps right into the crankcase- great fun to be had at 70 MPH.

From what I've read and from what I can tell GM pretty much denies that there is a problem with the cooling system on their v-6s made between 1996 and 2003, and are glad to pocket all of the receipts for what is becoming one of the most common (and expensive) repairs on their fleet of vehicles.

Honda or Nissan for me baby!

Start by checking your brake parts. Then some of the electronics. My last Chevy truck was a 1985.....it had a lot of Mexican parts on it. (Are those better quality than Chinese?) Give me a Toyota any day!

No truer words have ever been spoken. Even the German car companies like VW have compromised their quality by having alot done in China -- and their sales are dropping (brother in law is a mechanic and a shop manager at a big local dealership).

Toyota has consistently produced quality. And their upper management has a strict salary cap.

I love the way the ***s do business -- based on Edward Demmer's model that the US told to p*ss off decades ago.
