Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Border States Grapple With Alien Criminals

of a five-part series looking at how illegal immigration affects U.S. border security, the criminal, health care and education systems, as well as the economy. Watch the series this week on FOX News Channel.

Many police officials in states along the U.S.-Mexican border say they are fed up with the number of illegal aliens populating American prisons, many of them incarcerated for violent crimes such as murder, rape and robbery.

Almost one in six inmates in Arizona, for example, is a Mexican citizen.

"It is a phenomenon that law enforcement recognizes as a major problem," said one undercover detective, who specializes in street gangs and goes by the name "Paco."

"We have to put drug users and violators in there, babysit them, and now we have to babysit illegal aliens," said Maricopa County (search), Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio (search), whose jails are 4,500 inmates over capacity.

Most Mexicans cross the border looking for work, but competition is fierce for jobs requiring uneducated, unskilled labor. Many illegal immigrants find themselves far from realizing their dreams.

"We come over here to find a better life," said inmate Tony Perez, a convicted drug dealer. "Not all of us are here to sell drugs or to do bad things, despite a few that do. But then again, doesn't everybody else from every other country?"

"we come over here to seek a better life"...

MY ARSE, they're criminals and should be shot on site.

In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide
(which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds
of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.

A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in
1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern

California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The bloody gang collaborates with the Mexican Mafia,
the dominant force in California prisons, on complex drug-distribution

schemes, extortion, and drive-by assassinations, and commits an assault

or robbery every day in L.A. County. The gang has grown dramatically
over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.

The leadership of the Columbia Lil' Cycos gang, which uses murder
and racketeering to control the drug market around L.A.'s MacArthur
Park, was about 60 percent illegal in 2002, says former assistant
U.S. attorney Luis Li. Francisco Martinez, a Mexican Mafia member
and an illegal alien, controlled the gang from prison, while
serving time for felonious reentry following deportation.

in 2001, 87 percent of deportable aliens who received run
letters disappeared, a number that was even higher-94 percent-if
they were from terror-sponsoring countries.

John Mullaly a former NYPD homicide detective, estimates that 70
percent of the drug dealers and other criminals in Manhattan's
Washington Heights were illegal.

in 2000, for example, nearly 30 percent of federal prisoners were foreign-born.

Robert Klein Engler lives in Chicago. He is an adjunct professor at Roosevelt University.

Actually, it will improve when i'm done guzzling coffee.

I called in today - I needed a "mental health day" - they currently have no projects and i've been staring at the walls there for 3 to 4 weeks, drives me absolutely insane not having anything to do. So I decided that instead of having my attitude turn to scheisse i'm going to stay home and do some reading and play on the puter.

If you need something to get you going read some of the G.M. stuff. They were big on this China s##t.Sent all the work over seas to cut cost. Spun of Delphi automotive and put a bunch of small Co's. out of bussiness. Now they come back with how this plan hasn't worked and they are lossing there arses.
Maybe putting Greenspan on the board would help.
This isn't quite on the topic but sending all of delphi's work to Mexico was another NAFTA blunder, sending our work to Mexico was supposed to keep the Mexicans in Mexico!

I'd rather not grapple with illegal aliens. I don't know where they've been.
