That is an interesting article. I do think that radical liberalism has been rejected. The Democrat Party will continue to suffer as long as it is dominated by the nutjobs. The problem with the Republican Party, in my opinion, is that the alternative it offers is weak, at best. While there are differences between the parties, they aren't as big as they should be.
Ironically, as bad as the ultra-left adgenda is/was and as much as I personally despise it, it was the only thing that made the dems. distinguishable from the reps. Take away the "Radical Left Adgenda" from the mainstream democrat party, and you've essentially got the modern version of the republican party. Only cosmetic and rhetorical differences remain then.
Don't you all think it's a mistake to use Democratic party and liberalism as synonyms, and the same for conservative and republican?
You read my mind. Call a spade a spade. A Republican can call himself a conservative, but if his record doesn't back it up, he's a just another liar.

Remember that both extremes are minorities as far as the voting public is concerned. The middle-of-the-road candidate will do well regardless of party, for the most part. The Republicans just have to show up and not look like flaming lefties in order to win.

DON'T EVER say that to a die hard bush fan, they think he's the republican equivalent of Pat Buchanan.......[:-]

True but REAL conservative parties like the Constitution party have had a 45% increase in their numbers since the last election. Granted they're still small but they'll have a say in things sooner or later.
