Man Cleared to Remove Wife's Feeding Tube

By VICKIE CHACHERE
Associated Press Writer

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) -- A judge gave Terri Schiavo's
husband permission to remove the brain-damaged woman's
feeding tube in three weeks, handing him a victory in his
effort to carry out what he says were his wife's wishes not
to be kept alive artificially

Now just who do you want to rot, The husband or the Judge who might allow it?

I just don't get it .......... she is NOT brain dead, she is NOT on life support. They are going to let her starve to death.

Data,
Don't agree with alot you say. But I agree here. And I fully believe that the people who are doing this to her will some day be held accountable. I have a son who just turned 3 and who relies on a feeding tube to survive. I couldn't bear the thought of seeing him starve to death. What a horrible way to go. For myself, as long as I wasn't brain dead and didn't have to be on machines, I'd want to live.

She apparently is basically brain dead except for her bodily functions.I know if I were in her situation,I would want to be put out of my misery.I just would hope that somebody in my family would be able to have my wishes carried out.Just being alive doesn't mean you are living. If she were one of our pets, like a dog or a cat,in the same situation, there would be no problem in putting them to sleep. We are more sympathetic to our animals than to terminally ill people and that is sad.

mdrbowler99 - SHE IS NOT BRAIN DEAD

If you think you can categorize what life is and isn't, go for it. You'll fail horribly in your attempts to do so - trust me. One thing in this world is absolutely a certainty - either Terri is alive or she isn't. There are no in betweens. I submit she is ALIVE, she's not on life support and she has a family that is wanting desperately to take care of her.

The courts are failing both

I know very little about this case, so it is not mine to judge- but I do wonder what her life insurance is and who will get it?

Its amazing what can happen.

dochendrix - I believe there is/was but how valid it is now I'm not certain. An accidental death policy would mean nothing as she's dying a natural death (starvation). I don't understand why the Judge don't rule the marriage nul and void, give gaurdianship to her parents that WANT her and be done with it ?
