You don't know "how" she currently exists Charlie P, you're only assuming. Plus the chances that she could recover in the future .............. very hard to say. In her situation I don't think I'd want to be starved to death, no.

I know she is bedridden and has to be fed through a tube.

I think it's safe to say that she can't talk,laugh,go for a walk, or enjoy most things in life.

I don't know how she exists but you feel you know what her situation is hmmmmmmm.

I don't know if Charles is assuming anything, but I'm not. She's bedridden, totally dependent on others, and limited to using a single verbal expression, "Huh-duuuuhhhhhhhhh...."

No, it's not. Her brain is all but destroyed. You can't recover your higher functions if the tissue itself is wasted.

Theres been a lot of stuff submitted on this case - lots of testifying that she is or isn't brain dead etc.

Lets assume we all agree her life isn't really a life and thus we'll let her starve to death. I have this cousin, severly retarded ............ lets do the same with her, okay ? In fact, all severly retarded people we could get rid of in the name of humanitarianism. But then, those less retarded than the ones we disposed of will now become the most mentally handicapped ........... so we'll have to do the right thing there too
