1 week later and I guess the cops aint coming by ........
1 week ago, teacher calls and says theres been an incident with my 5 year old in Kindergarden. I said, okay, whats the deal. She says my girls said a dirty word. I'm thinking oh great, my girl said the F word. Anyway, seems they were in the lunch room and they have a cannister to place their untensils from lunch. A little boy throws his fork at it and it lands on the ground. My girl says
" if you'd have done that at my house, my Daddy would have beat your ass "
OMG !!!!!!!!!! Now where did she learn that language ? On the way to school the nexy day, after discussing the whole thing, I told her "crap" was a bad word too. She said she knew that, but she could say "What Th ........ ?????? " and I said Huh ? She said " yeah, I can say what the ??? but now what the hell "
GREAT ! And I thought I'd been a good Daddy on the bad words thing ! But lets look on the bright said. That she gave the impression she got beatings didn't go anywhere, she used ass correctly in her sentence structure and she pronounced her SS's and LL's very well

When I was in school, my dad wouldn't have cared. But my mom would've got out the soap. My personal preference was Laval or Palmolive. Dial and Zest on the other hand...[:'(]

Kids are going to get exposed to all the things you dont want them too. It is impossible to keep them from it. That is unless you lock them in the closet.

Datamax, I went through the same thing with my two sons when they were in they were that age, it is truly amazing how quickly they learn precisely the words that you do not want them to learn. My boys are in 8'th and 6'th grade now and I have some good news for you. While your kids will probably continue to swear, they will become very good at not doing it when there are any teachers around.

"Kirk's Castile Lye Soap"........ now there was a winner. I think they still make the stuff. It actually doesn't clean you, it takes several layers of skin off.
but I was lucky if I got the soap, the belt was toooooo handy !!

I've been using the F-word since I was in pre-school. I also did a lot of other "naughty" things. If you followed me around for a day, you'd probably think I grew up in the navy.
It happens, and while kids should be taught to remain respectful of others (especially adults, of course), I don't see use of profanity as that big a problem. If your daughter didn't correct herself after disciplinary measures, then I think it would warrant more attention on your part.

I swore as a child, but didn't swear in front of my parents until I was in my 20's, and that was a complete accident, so I apologized afterward.
Can't believe I forgot to mention this. I'm 25 and I still have some hesitations about cussing in front of my parents (especially mom). I never did at home growing up, only out with my friends. There's a time and a place for everything, and that's what's important to teach children.

That is dead on, Aught. My kids use some words that are crass but not necessarily profane (crap, sucks, etc) at home. We have tried very hard to teach them the "time and place" rule. So far, we haven't heard from the school yet!
I said "bulls*** in front of my dad once. Haven't used profanity in front of either of them since.
