Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default 20/20 hindsight Or Money better spent

You think if we had spent the billions here building up strong borders and intelligence we'd be better off the spending the money to liberate Iraq?

We wouldn't be fighting Terroists here because they wouldn't be able to get in.

We could kick out all the ones that are on expired Visa's.

If we had better intel we would have known Iraq wasn't a threat.

As far as the people of Iraq go is much really going to change in that country.Looks like they are heading for a strict Islamic rule.

But then countries (Mexico, e.g.) would be upset with us.[][][]

No.

There will always be some way in. The more we clamp down, the lower the chances of that happening, but nothing will ever be absolutely secure.

We could do that now if anyone in the federal governemnt had the orbs to support it. It's not money, but political pandering that's allowing these people to remain.

Intel is hit or miss. The only way to be sure of something to see if up close and personal. No way to do that with Iraq except to invade.

They might, but it's still too early. They have a lot of work on the constitution ahead of them. The Shi'ites will dominate, but I'm not completely convinced they want to become the next Iran.

Easier and cheaper, probably. But would we get the same results?

Come on, I thought you isolationists had come to your senses by now.

Or we could take what we spent on Tsunami and put it toward strengthening our borders.

I thought it was past time to go into Iraq and start taking names and kicking butt. We let them remain after the Gulf War, but they continued to be a real pain when it came to inspections and not firing on airplanes enforcing the no-fly zone. For me, that was grounds enough for action. I think that Bush thought we might get some more help if he emphasized WMD's, but it didn't happen.

As far as Iraq changing, I don't think they will be the democracy America wants them to be. The culture is just too different. And I doubt any government they form will have much seperation between church and state, or mosque and state?

That's a drop in a swimming pool compared to what we've spent in Iraq and will spend there.
