Sad day in the literary world. Hunter Thomson killed himself yesterday. I dont know why, but it is a sad day indeed.[]

I found it quite interesting that he liked to hole up in his "compound" and fire his automatics all the time. But when you consider the heavy drug use (past if not present) and his shooting of an employee during a run in with a bear, I have to wonder if he was all there.

I don't know much else about him, but I guess you have to give a little respect to a reporter who carries a gun and can hold his own with the Hell's Angels. Just seems a little crazy, that's all.

He was a writer who hit topics associated with the subculture. He was best know for his book, Hells Angels: A Strange and Terrible Saga. Where he lived and road with the Hells angles for a year while researching for the book.
