Arkansas leading nation in Divorce rate...Why?

There's more populated states... more people = more divorces it would seem like, but not here. So, why is it do you suppose? Any ideas datacat, er, I mean stealthymax? Or anyone else?

The governor is trying this convenant marriage in hopes to heal his broken state. Good luck.

The answer is simple. They tend to marry earlier in the South -- this is a well known fact.

Average age of getting married in the south is something like 19. Getting married when you're older = more stability.

But if you break it down denominationally... the lowest divorce rate inthe country begins with "Cath" and ends with "olics".... he he,

one for chas to chew on.

Charlie P insists we as a nation are not getting worse, isn't that right Charlie ? I see Divorce as WORSE, and it shows.

I'll tell you. Imagine if you grew up with your sister, the marriage won't last all that long. There is no mystery left and the in-laws know you like their own son.
The great thing I guess is you'd still have a sister to talk to after the divorce.

Them trees down there don't have a lot of branches

david m - true, homosexuality degrades and destorys what marriage is, but so do civil unions and common law marriages. living together is a huge problem. Premarital sex leads to prgnancy and leads to marriages that were not going to be had abstinece prevailed.

My buddy is going through his 2nd divorce. First one he didn't want (wife left him) second one he knocked up a whore gal he was trying to get rid of and figured he could marry her, have a baby and try to make it work or forget marriage and likely the child would have been aborted. So 3 years later and he hates the woman and he's getting divorced.

I thought this country was getting BETTER ? See how one thing leads to other things and before you know it even the cornerstones of morality have shifted off their foundations ?

i'm not against gay marriage at all.

i don't need a law to dictate what my marriage means to me, or how others should treat theirs.
