So... who else thinks our armed forces will be fighting here next? I have seen this coming for a long time now. IMO we are dealing with another Hitler that is interested more in destroying the world than conquering it. Even if they agree to it N. Korea will never dismantle their weapons.
They're scared and they want something from us quietly. They also don't trust their neighbors much. have you noticed that they pulled out of talks and have since said that they'll agree to talk with the US one on one with nobody else present. When these talks first were broached, they wanted China with them. Now they want to meet alone. Hmmmmmmm. They want something.

RE: North Korea....
I don't believe we will ever have troops in that part of the world again. China is too large and powerful, and we are spread too thin around the globe to go into the Far East.
If we were to go to the Far East, it would mean pulling 95% of our total armed services for a major war. And even though China may be on our side, wanting DPRK to disarm, they are still communist brothers. Hence, we attack N Korea, we in essence attack the communist way of life. China and Cuba would respond, in extreme retaliatory fashion, instantly.
This situation is too fragile to touch with a feather, let alone an iron fist...

Well China has had a belly full of North Korea. They are nothing more than a liability to China with no means of self support. The reason we still have troops in South Korea is to keep the South Koreans south, not to prevent the North Koreans from invading. Their army is not in as good a shape as propaganda lets on.
They're not trying to blackmail us. They're trying to get the economic assistance in rebuilding their country without having to endure us attacking and conquering their country in the process. If you think about it, they are being pretty darn smart except for the fact that they haven't found the right middleman to approach bush and let him know what their endgame is. However, if you look at this further, you can see that Bush is playing them like a fiddle and will end up getting them to renounce their nukes for a pledge of economic rebuilding assistance which is actually much cheaper that conquering their country. They will also institute some political reforms along the way and Bush will have scored another coup without using any troops.
Iran will see the writing on the wall and we'll support their citizens rising up against their gov't and installing a pro-U.S. gov't. Bush will have scored another coup without using much more than Air force and Special forces troops and Bush's political opponents still won't get it. The power players in the world will get it though and they will start playing ball. Bush's real accomplishments will have sailed right over the heads of most Americans but that's pretty much par for the course.
