Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default More proof "Globalization" is a one way street

As long as the fat cats get their enormous cut "globalization" is just ducky. But when it actually comes to the average schmoe on the street, he can go to hell.

Netzow apparently got caught up in a nationwide effort to
prevent Americans from buying cheaper prescription drugs
from Canada. It's a controversy that pits states and seniors
against the FDA and drug companies.

Since last February, Wisconsin residents have been able to buy
drugs from Canada as part of a Web-based program set up by the
state, one that the FDA warned was illegal. In October, the
program was expanded to include pharmacies in Ireland and the
United Kingdom as part of a joint arrangement with Illinois.

This situation will only prompt more folks to break the law .
My wife takes 5 'scripts each month , and if the costs keep going up I'll finally have a decent excuse to take more "fishing trips" up in Ontario ... [&o] I honestly hope that it doesn't come to that , the beer is so expensive up there !

Thread should be titled "more stupidity from government alphabet soup arbitrary law enforcement agencies"

Want to hear more similar stupidity?

I just bought a nice Yugoslavian SKS(they're on sale at Fleet Farm), these buggers have a Nato grenade launcher screwed onto the barrel. I found out that unscrewing the grenade launcher would be considered a serious no-no to the BATFE because the grenade launcher makes the rifle importable as a oddity that makes it collectable as a Curio & Relic. Removing the grenade launcher negates the status and makes it into an evil assault rifle. Nevermind that the AWB expired, its just that the rifle wouldn't have been importable had it not been for the attachement of the grenade launcher.

Oh for god's sake... thats insane.

Kinda makes you think that we have way too many lawmakers and politicians in this country that try to rationalize their existence by making stupid laws.

22 yrs of Fed service(at the bottom) allows me to exclaim.." you wouldn't believe it"..... and you'd be upset if you knew what the mindset was in the Gov't. It's NOT what's being sported on the news.....

I kind of find it hard to fault either side in this case.

This guy just wants to save a couple bucks on his prescriptions every month.

The Feds can't just allow rampant importing of drugs from other countries.

I think the solution is to figure out what drugs, if any, we are going to allow in to the United States and stick with it. My main problem is the selective enforcement of it all.

What would be so wrong with simply demanding that the pharma companies charge the same here that they do in Canada ? I'm not talking about by law , but by consumer backlash . This is supposed to be a free market economy , it should be legal to buy from Canada if domestic prices are prohibitive . NAFTA anyone ?
