Having read numerous stories like this I can only think this world would be better off without this religion.

Kuwaiti father slits throat of daughter
KUWAIT CITY - A KUWAITI killed his 13-year-old daughter by slitting her throat in front of her siblings because he thought she was not a virgin, only days after he performed the annual Muslim haj pilgrimage, newspapers reported yesterday.
The 38-year-old father, identified only as Adnan, blindfolded and handcuffed his daughter, Asmaa, before murdering her late on Tuesday as she pleaded for her life, Al-Rai Al-Aam said.
After cutting her throat a first time, the man, a civil servant at the Islamic Affairs Ministry, swopped the knife for one with a sharper blade while his three other children watched.
The daily said forensic examinations proved the girl was still a virgin.
While I don't agree with the father's actions ,
it's his culture , not mine .

There are murderers, extremists, nut jobs, etc. in all religions, and I think it is wrong to blame the religion without evaluating the religion's influence on that behavior.
Muslims either-- have more of the afore mentioned murderers, extremists, and nut jobs, or they are getting all the press right now, and it just seems they have more murderers, extremists, and nut jobs.
I have heard exerpts from the Koran that support the idea that the religion itself encourages extremism and murder, but having not read the thing, I don't know about the context of those exerpts.
