Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Child Abuse! What Can We Do??!!

Watching Fox news the link and story that I will post below came on...I had just had dinner, needless to say I will be lucky to keep water down for awhile now! Is it just me that hates the fact that our tax dollars keep these skank preverted slimeballs alive??? We have heard of the Women that drowned their children, Parents that burned their houses down with the kids in it to collect on the insurance money....and then this story??? It is so evil and sick!! Perhaps I am wrong but...as a single older mother of a wonderful 6yro son...... I would love to have just 5 minutes or less with these slimeballs!!! Sorry just had to vent. How can parents be they natural or adoptive even be capable of this....and to think that our tax dollars pay for them to live in our prisons with 3 squares, ac, tv privledges yada, yada..

Couple Accused of Torturing Kids Captured in Utah, Cops Say
Friday, February 04, 2005

INVERNESS, Fla.Â*"”Â*A Florida couple accused of torturing and starving five adopted children "” including pulling out their toenails and subjecting them to electric shocks "” were captured Friday in southeastern Utah after police tracked them through their cell phones, officials said.

John and Linda Dollar (search) were jailed in San Juan County, Utah, on Florida warrants of felony aggravated child abuse (search).

The family included seven adopted children between the ages of 12 and 17. Five of the children told investigators they were tortured by the couple, subjected to electric shocks, beatings with hammers and having their toenails yanked out with pliers.

Authorities said the abused five had physical injuries to back up their claims and were severely malnourished. They told of being forced to sleep in a closet in the Dollars' bedroom because the couple accused them of stealing food and misbehaving, said Citrus County (search) sheriff's spokeswoman Gail Tierney.

"They looked like the photos that we've seen of Auschwitz," said Tierney, describing 14-year-old twins, one weighing 36 pounds, the other 38 pounds, about 80 pounds below the normal weights for their age.

The other two children were favored by the Dollars and were uninjured, Tierney said. All seven are in state custody.

Child Abuse needs to be punished to the extreme!!

I am not talking about spanking or common sense discipline either!! I am pretty old school with my son but do not beat, humiliate or abuse him for cripes sake! I am his mother before I am his friend. That is part of my job.

However, these people that abuse and torture children in anyway just need to be sterilized and then put down.. slowly, very slowly like those children were made to suffer![:@][:@]

Hope that it is not just me that feels this way....something needs/has got to be done....Thanks for letting me vent folks.

No Problem. Vent away! I agree with you and Florida sure has is share of this sort of stuff. I have my theories about why but I think I will keep them to myself - only thoughts with no real proof.
This story is sick!

I feel the same way you do Chris ,
but for now there are laws , along with our system of checks and balances , that protect everyone supposedly equally . One of those checks is the right to be judged before a jury of your peers . Let it get that far , then decide what's right when the vedict comes out . You'd want the same . Personally , I'd probably go ballistic and torch their house , but that's just me ...

Heck, My son is 4'2" tall and his weight is 63 lbs, the kid just turned 6 on 12/29 not making a comparison but actually I suppose I am..... two 14 year old twins weighing a mere 36 and 38 lbs??? Hello....

Cal, I agree with you!
And Kevin.....Yes, I would/do want a fair legal system.... you are correct. However, our legal system is so skewed it is downright disgusting in many instances. And then, there are the other cases where it works.....
IMO in a miniscule way though. My thoughts with the legal knowledge that I have, it pretty much is who one knows, and what kind of money one has more often than not. Sad....very sad. Not true in all cases but such is life.........it nauseates me in a major way, not to mention very much hurts my heart for these children. And then their parents/parent get off on an insanity plea....or some other type of BS!

There's always the court of last resort Chris .
It exists in every state and always seems to find the way .

Its a very sick and sad world and people like that should never be allowed to have kids, let alone live.

I'm trying to get into law enforcement and i will someday, and i am looking forward to arresting people who are like that

The first step is to do away with the DFCS (Division of Family and Childrens Serviices) or whatever it is called in the various states. Fire them all and start from scratch, get qualified administrators and give them a budget that is realistic, give them enough trained and dedicated people to do the job without overload and get some judges dedicated to nothing but children. While many individual workers in these organizations are fine, most are burned out skells without a clue as to how to do their jobs or in some instances why it is necessary. Stories of this type are rampant in every state and the organization with the direct responsibility to save children is always the same, and the excuses always the same.

No society should have ever permanently eliminated the practice of stoning.
