Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Wheather you like him or not- is this right?????

I find it particularly un-nerving that there are those in our own Country who despise him enough to seek another Country's court. I just do not get it. I would have never supported another Country seeking to indite President Clinton or the idiot Jackson- I just don't understand!!!![&o]

Extremely irritating and self-serving. Both the idiot Americans and the German court for being so CS.[:@]

You have to wonder where this Center for Constitutional Rights was when saddam hussein was torturing and slaughtering his own people. And where have they been for all of the terrorist murders and all of the other human rights violations that routinely occur around the world? Same for the German court. Oh, I forgot, the German court wouldn't want to look in the mirror for selling WMD supplies, etc. to saddam so he could torture more of his own people. And this "New York based" Center for Constitutional Rights wouldn't want to find fault with anybody but America. Just another liberal communist lying front organization.[:@]

That just shows how spine-less the liberals are when it comes to presecuting people! If they want to prosecute him, they should do it here. Obviously they don't like the odds of him being convicted here, or they probably would have tried to prosecute here!! And the majority of the dems obviously don't have the spine either to support change in our own country!!

I really have no opinion on Rumsfeld, but when people quickly try to exit an arena whether it be politcal or in business it is due mainly to two things:

1) Trying to make sure their reputation isn't smeared by something going on.

2) Trying to avoid some sort of action against them for their own actions.

Not sure what his motives are.

Right on, CalHunter. While these morons try to scrape up whatever evidence they can to point the finger at Rumsfeld, they're entirely missing the big picture of not only the war, but global terrorism in general. Just absurd!

And I too am sitting here scratching my head. A German court? This internationalist BS has got to stop!

Das Weltgericht über allen!!!

seriosuly though...i don't think the german courts have the jurisdiction, nor do i think they have the desire to act on this. they will refuse to hear this case.

Careful now, remember, bush used as part of his rationale for going to war the disregard for UN sanctions.

Why do foreign authorities hold weight in one arena and not the other?

This is one of the things that really cranks me off about Bush et. al. Total inconsistency on policies. some policies are traditional conservative, others are total whack job lefty.

eg:

Homeland insecurity - but he's pushing again for open borders and relaxed immigration.

(and both policies are typical whack job lefty, increase goobermint and social spending)
