Belling is a local radio hack who pretends to be conservative and occasionally fills in for the pill popper Rush. His arguments have become so obviously "neoclown" that I was shaking in my car on the way home listening to that idiot. He is BASHING Marquette University because they would not allow students to collect funds for an "adopt a sniper" club unless they lost their slogan "one shot one kill, it's my decision". (Remember, Marquette is Roman Catholic)

I found myself absolutely livid listening to your smarmy lies on the radio and insisting that
everyone agree with your pathetic arguments.
First off, the Catholic Church"™s doctrinal stance on killing is that it is BAD, ever hear of the ten commandments ?
Students supporting a sniper is supporting killing "“ that"™s what snipers do, and don"™t give me that "śprotection"ť argument, the truth still is that snipers kill. If you don"™t like the RCC"™s stance, DON"™T JOIN.
As for your pitiful ROTC argument I can counter that with logic that a 12 year old that doesn"™t lie up a radio station could understand. Those in the ROTC are not REQUIRED to kill once they leave the program. It is perfectly acceptable and moral to be in a support roll or to exercise your moral obligation as a Catholic to be a conscious objector and work in a support role "“ whether it be behind the lines or on the front lines. In addition, the Catholic church would have no problem with a member earning a black belt in Karate, but they would have a problem with a person using this in an offensive manner.
And as for the lies told by some of your callers (that you AGREED WITH), the Pope does not have a sniper team.. the Vatican is guarded by the swiss guard, a purely ceremonial position with no weapons other than a ceremonial spear.
You mentioned armor for the troops.. whats the matter? Isn"™t 500 Billion a year on bloated military enough? Why don"™t you mention the 9 Billion dollars the Bush administration just lost by handing it over to a false "śIraqi authority"ť "“ or would offending Bush not be to your liking.

Marquette University is filled with liberal hypocrites who are pro abortion and have embraced diversity and homosexuality like a long lost child.
This group of young Republicans has taken up a good cause but have presented it poorly. Their basic intent is to support troops and in this case the units of snipers. Good for them., but they should have not done it in such an "śin your face"ť confronting manner.
They should have also disclosed their material when requesting the approval to have their fund raiser. This could have all been avoided.
Marquette being a privately run Catholic University can do what they want but don"™t paint them as the outstanding example of Chatolic much less Christians because they are not that at all.
No Christian can be pro or neutral on abortion or allow them a free voice in a Christian setting. They have no standing. Marquette allows them to speak and mingle on campus. Murder is murder. Killing armed enemies is not.

North Texas, that is rationalizing something to suit their needs. It does not make it true, real or factual. How can it be inert? Even if they take that asinine position that it is not human, it is still an animal not inert or a vegetable. Therefore why are most PETA members and animal right member"™s also pro abortion. The point is Marquette Unv. embraces the rights of abortionist to speak on campus, the right of homosexuals to speak on campus all of which the Pope says are wrong.
That is why I think even though within their rights to stop the fund raiser, they are hiding behind the Catholic Church position rather than their true left wing liberal ideology.
This group was not totally honest and forth coming with what they wanted to present and they are wrong for that action. This entire matter could have been handled much more effectively in an institution of higher learning if not for all the hard nose political butt heads involved on both sides.
And Mark Behling is a perfect example of a know it all in for the money loud mouth with a talk show. He makes moderates and conservatives look bad.

You are wrong. Under the Catechsim, a war must pass the Just War Doctrine under Catholic Law. Then, and only then, can killing your enemy be "justified". The Pope has been oppossed to the war in Iraq from the beginning, and has said that it is NOT a just war, and does not pass the Just War Doctrine. The Papacy has been very vocal in their opposition to this war and in invading Iraq as we did. Therefore, it is killing as far as the Catholic Church is concerned.
I am not asking you to agree, just pointing out what Catholics believe.
For the record, had too much Catholic education, and am now basically just a deist, but I know the Catechism and follow the news.
My point was that they rationalized abortion. I'm not saying they're right, I'm just pointing out how they justify their philosophy.
