Default "Stewart to Star in Second 'Apprentice"

Can you believe this crap? She gets jailed for embezzelment, then NBC wants to hire her back right after she gets out?

Any person (non-famous) who would committ such a crime wouldn't be able to have a decent paying job!!

Typical liberals[:@]

This came off of Yahoo

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...martha_stewart

NEW YORK - Martha Stewart (news - web sites), you're hired. NBC, Donald Trump and Mark Burnett, the masterminds behind NBC's "The Apprentice," announced Wednesday that Stewart will host "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart," a new version of the business-themed reality show.

"Mark and I have always admired her," Trump said during an NBC conference call. "She's a very brave women. She's built a multimillion dollar empire. It was an easy decision. We think this will be an absolutely tremendous success."

Burnett didn't reveal many details on the show "” whether there will be a boardroom, when the show would begin taping. However, Burnett did make it clear he never discussed any business with Stewart during his monthly visits to her.

Stewart was convicted last year of lying about why she unloaded shares of ImClone Systems Inc. stock in 2001, just before the price plunged.

Stewart, who founded Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc., began serving her five-month sentence in October, and is due to be released in early March from a prison in Alderson, W.Va.

"Since the last four months, Martha's been incarcerated and has given no input," said Burnett during the conference call.

Oh please. Martha didn't do anything that anyone else wouldn't do and likely hasn't done. She paid her dues in millions long before her prison sentence which was a farse and a disgrace to out legal system. Crack dealers get less time than Martha for LOSING money ? It is absurd and I say if she can make it all back and start with the Apprentice II all the more power to her.

i hate that woman, but she has served her time.

I am not disputing the fact that she has served her time, that is what she was sentenced to, and she has done it. It just frustrates me when I hear of such things like this, when there are so many people who do crimes that involve a lot less money, and are probably less serious, and have a hard time finding a job when they get out. She's being offered before her time is up!

Well, whatever. I won't be watching it. The only decent thing left on network TV today is COPS.

That's BS! She wasn't sent to jail for losing money. She was sent to jail for lying to federal prosecutors about the stock sale. Start slapping people on the wrist (which is essentially what she got) for lying to prosecutors and see how that turns out. Not too good I imagine. You think the system is messed up and unfair now.

As far as her going on the Apprentice. Being in jail is going to cause alot of people to watch who wouldn't otherwise. I see no problem with it.

I don't know about that Aught. Haven't you been watching the one on CBS about the lesbian who married her brother after his (her) sex change operation? She's a cop and he's a ER doctor. Their next door neighbor is a midget with a donkey.

Great stuff man.

I actually agree with your original comment Charlie Brown. Though she has served her time and deserves a job - I don't agree she should be held in high esteem by parading her on the Apprentice II merely to boost the number of viewers. But these are the times we find ourselves in.

Those that feel the way I do certainly have a choice not to watch the show - I know I won't. If there are enough like-minded souls the show won't last and NBC will get the message that there are a number of people with high standards.

Like Bill Clinton saying "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" or Hillary and he stock trading, and how many months did they get ? Oh, thats right, they served no jail time ! Do you know how many people lie everyday and don't get anything for it ? Look at the post on 3 men and a men lion - pot smoking teens and they didn't get arrested. The law is very flexible and Martha was targeted for some reason for a petty stock trade and the whole thing resulted in her losing hundreds of millions of dollars.

It was a joke, a farse and a disgrace to the legal system
