Default UK Makes A Sound Self-Defense Decision For Once

Homeowners can kill burglars in self-defence, Government says

Guess the regular folks are sick of seeing an injured criminal sue or have prosecuted the homeowner who acted in self-defense. Now if they'll only give people's handguns back. The explosion in violent crime following the ban speaks for itself.

You realize of course that this makes the UK more gun friendly than most of the united states. Many states have laws that you may not use deadly force in defense of property - wisconsin is one of them.

I actually think around here you're supposed to help them carry the stuff out to their vans.

Instances in which you could be prosecuted...

2. "You knew of an intended intruder and set a trap to hurt or kill them rather than involve the police."
I knew they would take all the fun out of it somewhere.

As for Texas:

Quote:
ยง 9.42. Deadly Force to Protect Property

A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:

(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under
Section 9.41; and

(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is
immediately necessary:

(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary,
robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal
mischief during the nighttime; or

(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing
burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime
from escaping with the property; and

(3) he reasonably believes that:

(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any
other means; or

(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover
the land or property would expose the actor or another to a
substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.
Not only can we blast them for breking and entering, self-defense, ect., I can shoot the S.O.B. that keeps stealing my bug zapper.

Hardly, this is but a tiny step forward after decades of firearms laws making it nearly impossible for the common citizen of the U.K. to own any firearm. Their laws still make it nearly impossible for any citizen to own a handgun or a rifle, the most commonly owned gun being a shotgun.
What this did was to, finally, make it legal for the homeowner to protect his home and property against an intruder without fear of going to jail himself such as happened to the farmer there some years ago. The farmer served 5 years.
You notice the announcement didn't mention making it easier for homeowners, or anybody else, to purchase and own a gun.

I realize that, I was being a little facetious (living in this socialist hell hole of wisconsin).

I was also told some time ago that gun owners in the U.K. used to pack their guns in grease, put them in a sealed PVC waste pipe and bury them outside to keep the authorities from seizing them.

good place to buy a metal detector.

I'm curious as to how long it will take before they backslide , decide that they were right the first time , and then slowly sink to South Africa's level ?

Funny you should choose South Africa, they have one of the highest murder rates in the world. The weapon of choice? A machete!!

And South Africa is supposed to be one of the more developed African countries. Makes Colombia look like Canada.

Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, S. Africa took a dumper after Apartheid was banned. Now it's a political free for all.
